Awww, I don't own furry boots, but it would be fun to wear to work! I work in people's homes and they would enjoy it too!

tpbm would love an authentic indian meal!

YES!!! Last time I had indian food a friend surprised me with an order of goat in a yogurt mint sauce and it was incredible. I wish I remembered the name...

Yes, no more room in my book shelf. I even moved some into guest bedroom in case someone wanted to indulge.
Someday, I hope to have a library/reading room.

It's Thor's Day.

TPBM thinks there should always be thunderstorms on Thor's Days.

That's a fantastic idea! But then we'd need... marriages and childbirth (?) on Frigg's Day, starting tomorrow.

TPBM always wondered why DECember isn't the 10th month, and NOVember, the 9th.

November used to be the ninth month, December used to be the tenth. Octobor was 8th, and September was 7th. Calendar reform stuck July and August in there and ruined everything. I guess that counts as No, because I always knew this.
TPBM is still confused about how both January and March managed to be the first month for the romans, but suspects that this was in two different eras.

I knew about September thru December, Fishy, but I did not know about January and March! So, I guess I'm not still confused about that, I'm newly confused.

I find it funny that the only months which are named after ordinal numbers are those which ended up misaligned due to the insertion of July and August.

ensmismada: I wonder if Frigg's domain could be modernized to be about, well, let's call it Fertility 2.0, making Frigg's Day a day for the celebration of friendship (rather than marriage) and the birth of new ideas (rather than children).

TPBM is wondering HOW THE FRIGG it can be that Friday/Frigg's day is not here yet, given how long this week has seemed.

I have a desk by a window. Of course it's my bedroom window, and it looks into the light well between two Victorians, so it's not like I have a view...

Nope, I quit for the summer and hated life for two weeks. I'll start back up at Burning Man! Fear me. :D

The person below me will tell me about their ridiculous childhood candy preferences.

ridiculous? nah. I saw a promotional stackout of "Flicks" at the drugstore yesterday. How many candies were merchandised in a cardboard tube? do they still make wax candy? I'll concede that was ridiculous stuff.

tpbm thinks if they had been allowed candy, they wouldn't crave it so.

Well, I don't crave it so much nowadays, but I definitely did for a while in my 20s and 30s, and I'm sure it had to do with my childhood candy deprivation.

TPBM realizes now that their parents were always way cooler than he/she ever realized.

This moderate agnostic-leaning-atheist was a floor-rollin', demon-castin', book-burnin', culture-warrin' radical fundamentalist Christian from the ages of 18 to 22. So I not only believed in the devil, I believed in lots of devils... here, there, and everywhere. Why you lookin' at me like that? I can see demons in your soul!!!

TPBM belongs to a lesser-known religion.

The why does he commute to Berkeley? Or was that over in the 80s.
