Disorient Country Club
Anyone have any experience with it? I'm seriously debating going. It's a bit last minute, but nothing I can't pull off.
But i would be going solo.

Well that will make 3 eplayans there at least, although my wife's participation on eplaya is limited to lurking.

Nice, vodka cut with vodka - may want to save that for the evenings though - its supposed to be in the 90's and humid.
I'm bringing a load of pbr plus something for the new flask, not sure what yet.
Are you setting up your trash fence art?

Nah. Still working on it. I'll be bringing some yarn to work on some smaller projects though.
Small portions on the tinis. Traditionally, they're only 3 ounces.
And beer during the heat of the day.

Too bad - I was hoping for a preview of the trash fence, but then I have no completed art to bring myself - aside from my limited spinning skills.
But in true conehead fashion - I am prepared to consume mass quantities of PBR, and in fact have been practicing that all year lol.

Disorient is good people, if you live anywhere within range that will probably make for a great weekend.

I decided to go. The kicker was finding out the day camp had room for my dog this weekend, so I'm scrambling a bit today to get everything going.

Re: Disorient Country Club
I bought tickets the day they went on sale, yet we are still scrambling to get all the stuff together at the last minute.
Now we just need to find a Prius sized shoehorn.
At least they reduced the weather forecast out of the 90's, although there is now some chance of rain (30%).

Re: Disorient Country Club
I saw that. Time to find my good backpacking poncho.
I am trying to leave the office today at 5. It's rare for me. Then I have to hit:
a)Daffy's/Goodwill(I need a nice hat for this)
b)Costco
c)Shoppers Vineyard(Liquor)
d)Whole foods(They have the Dr. Bronners)
Tomorrow: Drop the dog off at camp at 6:30 when they open unless I can figure out a way to load the car tonight that leaves room for an 80lb greyhound. 7:30am pick up new plates for car and new drivers license(lost it last week)
Work
Leave sometime around 1pm. Stop at Trader Joe's on the way.
I'm pushing it, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm even bringing my shitty old clubs and some wiffle golf balls.

I will certainly try - I've been looking forward to this for a while as most local burner stuff is too inconvenient to attend after work. Somehow I find driving 3 hours for a weekend much easier than commuting an hour or so after work when I have to get up for work the next day.
I even managed to scrape together a pornj shirt, although I had planned something nicer than a tee - with this heat / humidity wave I guess it is just as well.

Re: Disorient Country Club
HOLY SHIT SNACKS!
I bought this weird yarn on sale a few months ago. It's seconds and in the weirdest combination of colors, but super soft and cheap. I have no idea what to do with it and I have POUNDS of it.
Anyway, feeling like an idiot, I google pornj hoping that no one sees this and that it doesn't direct to anything inappropriate for the work place.
THE YARN IS PORNJ! Seriously. Orange and pink. So... I will be crocheting pornj scarves for people. Nothing fancy. Just a quick 15v minute pattern I have, but yay me! I'm participating.

Nice - those will surely be a hit.
Still debating on my flask fare - considering breaking into my dwindling supply of Mezcal, but will try to find some of that maple whiskey first.

Settled for a bottle of pineapple infused sky vodka.
Just finished loading up and our Prius SUV has just about enough room for our printed tickets left.

Got word from Ky who's at the venue…
The weather is good at Country Club, but the ground is still wet and muddy in spots, so please bring your galoshes to walk with impunity and maximize your fun!

Re: Disorient Country Club
What a party - but "muddy in spots" is quite the understatement. Imagine a giant green sponge filled with dirty water lol. The ground was so wet that water squirted out with each step. Just finished unloading the car but it will take a week to clean everything.
We had a great time and beautiful weather anyway though. Will try to post some photos soon.

Re: Disorient Country Club
I'll be washing mud from my gear for the next month. My camp was literally in 6 inches of mud. Annoying to deal with but it molded perfectly to my spine for excellent lumbar support while I slept.
Had a great time. Shot a shot gun, won a scavenger hunt, had a nice gathering around my hookah. Sliced a chink of my foot off the last night and am sunburnt to a crisp.
Every part of my body aches, but it was awesome, and Drawingablank was a great help. And he brought me swag for 2011, including a nail from the man!

Re: Disorient Country Club
Finally got the few pics I took out of the camera. I didn't take many as usual, and missed a few nice art pieces like the mantis garden, giant shroom, and toad art vehicle.

Note to self: If you ever camp with Vulture Chow - don't let her pick the camp site.

These giant flowers were about 6 feet in diameter and atop an extended manlift. They changed colors frequently as well. I think that moon looking thing was dirt, since we had a much smaller phase.

Another awesome piece, this dome had programmable lights and every color of the rainbow in each light strand as well as a sound activated mode.

Re: Disorient Country Club
Great pictures!
In my defense, the campsite was somewhat chosen for me and at 6:30 at night, I just needed something close to the road that I could schlep my stuff from. And it didn't seem so bad at first.
That dome was spectacular. You could switch between modes with a wii controller and they can reprogram on the fly. Sunday they took some time to program a pornj setting. And the sound reactive one was awesome.
