Mobile Dispute Resolution Enclosure
Brought to you by Camp Settle This Like Men!
Essentially a boxing ring/UFC octagon on a trailer, with gently used safety gear and poorly trained referees available to let you hash things out with neighbors, former friends, camp mates.
We'll have similarly low-quality training sessions, misguided tips, and unsanitary mouthguards during the week, culminating in peak time matches.

This could prove to be all kinds of popular. Giving this a nudge over to Mutant Vehicles.

You sure? It's not really an M.V., more like a mobile theme camp. Crap, now I'll have to convince the Hotties? At least I have a track record with them.

Re: Mobile Dispute Resolution Enclosure
Yeah, I think the keyword is mobile. Building something creative on a trailer and hauling it from location to location all week for performances is largely just building a mobile stage, which is right up the DMV's alley. Don't let that stop you though, I think the idea could be all kinds of fun and awesome and would certainly merit getting permitted. I'm imagining a burner-licious 'Vegas-on-acid' take on the over-the-top glitzy pageantry of ring matches (round card girls or boys, refs, colorful silk boxing trunks, luchadore masks)...

A Ranger I mentioned it to expressed serious concern. I'm pretty sure that's a Win!

Re: Mobile Dispute Resolution Enclosure
Stolen from my previous post about Virility 2.0:
Hmmm,
MMA Monday-No eye gouging, fish hooking, or biting
Take-down Tuesday-the subtle art of judo, aikido, jiu jitsu. No hitting or kicking! Head butting tolerated, but not encouraged
Whoop-ass Wednesday: all styles, open classes, Texas accents
Throw-down Thursday: The highlight of the week! Need to, ahem, discuss the gray water situation with a camp mate? Air out some grievances with your neighbors? That DJ steal your woman? Settle it like men, even if you're a woman!
Frat-boy Friday-Drunken brawling, chest puffing, shit-talking. Lure that weekend warrior into a just and honorable beat down!
Burn night is ninja night! Dress in black, be stealthy, attack the unsuspecting.
Sunday Slaughter-Why burn bad memories at the Temple when you act out in physical acts of rage? No, really.
Any thoughts about approaches? I toyed with the trailer idea, but a good ring is 15 x 15. A trailer is more like 5 or 6 wide, so even a 10 x 10 ring is pretty damn wide. I thought about doing it as part of a theme camp, but unless you got primo location, we wouldn't get as much traffic as I'm hoping for. It would almost need to be in a plaza, at least. Or, figure out how to transport it around. I'll have art car access, so that might be a great route. 4x8 sheets of plywood laid down, with foam mats over it, probably take about 1/2 and hour for two guys to build up. You could drop it anywhere, but that might hurt us with the classes we want to offer. Or, just do it as an unregistered art piece. Find a nice spot off the esplanade, build the ring, hold classes, promote grudge matches.....errr...kinetic dispute resolution workshops.

This is overall a very bad idea.
That's probably why I like it.

got some good info from Death Guild. Found a home for the install, Pink Fuzzy Monkey Camp. We'll be doing fighting, and black light twister.
We'll see where the Borg puts us, but we're hoping for esplanada!

(once you know your location, that is)
you might also consider some giant inflatable boxing gloves, for comic relief

why don't you come on down and teach a "seminar." I'm getting several other martial artists to come down and help teach their specialty. The goal is to have fun, as well as create mayhem, and cut down on the pooping in other peoples' evap ponds. I'm also hoping to get a few veterans trained up and ready for the frat boy influx!

Sounds good just give me a time and place , I had 152 Amateur fights ,and lost only 2 , Also when I was 29 Bob Arum called me at home and wanted me to go pro and fight for him. Was to old and turned him down.
My friend and I also ran a boxing gym in the 70's . Will you have a heavy bag hanging up ? They are great for demo and warm up b4 match.

Nah, but we're bringing focus mitts. Extra gloves would be awesome. I'm bringing 16 oz gloves as well. Figure a 5 minute round with those on will wear out most combatants. Head gear, mouth guards, shin guards. I'll start working on schedule when we're closer, but we're thinking about classes around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
