A&E offering transportation for art pieces?
I just saw a piece on the local news about an artist who built a dragon out of scrap metal and such, but at the end of the news story the reporter said "and he'd like to take it to the Burning Man festival at the end of August. The A&E channel has offered to transport it to the festival"
I guess there will be some sort of show on A&E soon...

I took a look at his webpage, and it looks like he rents out this art. It appears to be a commercial product... I might be wrong: http://www.angelfire.com/id/arealdragon/
I personally like the "To Rent" link.

He has an Angelfire page... Angelfire? I bet he used his @webtv.com email account to respond to A&E.

I've forwarded a link with a note about the A&E channel mention to the press team.
I'm always surprised to see people still using sites like angelfire, but you'd be surprised at the number of artists who don't spend much time sitting in front of the computer. They spend their time painting, sculpting, welding, etc. and spend very little time on the computer, and tend to only change out hosts or web pages when they absolutely positively have to.

Wow. Looking at that page was like going back to 1997. I could almost hear my modem squeal as it connected...

As long as A&E has no evil plans, I hope he brings it! Rental or not...its been art in progress for him. I also hope he gets it out...or the ranch has a new protector.

What got my fur up is how A&E said they would pay to transport it there, but not back. It seems to me as if A&E is using it as an way into the event.

Probably...or just hoping to capture some up to the minute footage...well aware of BMs media policies. Right or Wrong..this poor guy shouldn't get caught in the middle. So he rents it! If there were an artist that I enjoyed and found to be hosting their page on Angelfire I would offer to create a site for them (at the cost of the hosting/domain.. And maybe a meal)... I cringe when I see folks on hotmail/aol/webtv (and almost at that point for yahoo, which I use for spammy registration things).
