I will grab some newer tunes in honor of cleaning up the bar and fire up the juke box soon.
And someone pour a round of windex drinks in honor of this rebeautification day.
Windex Shot
1 1/2 oz. Vodka
1 1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
Dash of Lime Juice
Mix in a glass and drink

Alright, some people don't care for Pollock, but BHA does and hey... Pollock's drip works were the subject of a study by Richard P. Taylor, who identified the presence of fractals in this painting, Blue Poles: Number 11, 1952, as well as others by the artist. This is one reason why, no, your kid/dog/trained monkey could not replicate a Pollock. It ain't just squiggly drip lines, after all. I mean, FRACTALS...this just BUGS BHA right out. Woo-hoo, if you know what I mean...
From Taylor's article in Scientific American:
We started our investigation by scanning
... we then covered it
with a computer-generated mesh of identical
squares. By analyzing which squares
were occupied by the painted pattern and
which were empty, we were able to calculate
the statistical qualities of the pattern.
And by reducing the square size, we
were able to look at the pattern at what
amounts to a finer magnification. Our
analysis examined pattern sizes ranging
from the smallest speck of paint up to approximately
a meter. Amazingly, we
found the patterns to be fractal. And they
were fractal over the entire size range—
the largest pattern more than 1,000 times
as big as the smallest. Twenty-five years
before their discovery in nature, Pollock
was painting fractals.

Tish: sorry babe... I caught the chair comment, but was in too much of a hurry to get nekked in the back room so's I could get into my uniform...
(that, and I wasn't sure if you were tired of me hitting on you, yet
)
While I'm on the topic of my uniform, it seems as though I only have my garter belt and my stockings, so, unless you have any major gripes, THAT'S what I'll be wearing today, as I fix those cracked mirrors. Anyone have any complaints??? Going once, going twice...
I LOVE the pollack piece, BHA. I adore his ability to paint movement and chaotic rapture... Tish, we'll have to find a special place for that one.

Complaints? The only complaint is that there is too much uniform.GuinivereElise wrote:While I'm on the topic of my uniform, it seems as though I only have my garter belt and my stockings, so, unless you have any major gripes, THAT'S what I'll be wearing today, as I fix those cracked mirrors. Fireman Sour's
1 1/2 oz. White Rum

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the rum, lime juice, and grenadine. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Top with the Club Soda. Stir well. Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
