"Fey" is another term used by the Radical Faeries (hippie gays, but some of them are Damn Sexy), and some more "flamboyant" gays, and, yes, some of the ones I know would probably be insulted with it used that way, once they got over laughing at someone desperate enough to find another word to use that still meant "gay". That fact should make someone happy.

Fishy wasn't using it in that context, so no worries there.
