We left BRC at about 4 in the afternoon on Friday. No line to get in, we saw a few virgins getting rolled in the dust, so they were admitting folks.

That really sucks. I can't imagine what it would be like to prepare all year, drive (2,000 miles for me) only to get to the gate & have to sit outside. But then again I have a tough time having any sympathy for someone that just shows up for a day or two (not a lot of planning for that). Still, it really sucks.
So if they don’t get in do they get their money back, or does that fall under the “we can deny entry to anyone” clause?

There are no refunds if you can't get in. Who can even verify who the actual "owner" of a ticket is anyway?

What might result is that the event plans performs less trunking with respect to camping capacity. Burning Man sure has suffered some growing pains these past few years.

True, And I guess it would depend on who was actually controlling the flow of traffic preventing people from getting in. I personally cant imagine only going for a few days but then again I have a long drive to get there. I'm not able to take everything in in a week much less a few days. But I suspect that's not why the weekenders go.
