Captcha prompt

Post by tamarakay » Wed Dec 11, 2013 12:46 pm

Last two days when I pull up eplaya it says I've tried to log in too many times and I have to do the number entry thing. I've not tried to log in except that once. Is there a bug or is someone trying to get in as me?

I didn't experience the problem Monday, but have been experiencing the problem in the last 24 hours. It's definitely not you - I'm working with the tech team to get it resolved. In the meantime, I'm sorry for the extra login hassle.

Yeah, there's a fair amount of discussion of this in the WTF thread.

You posted it in the right place, tamarakay. The WTF thread is not the place to report problems or issues with the site.

This problem should hopefully now be resolved. A newly installed load balancer (which will help us tremendously when things get busy) had a bit of a configuration hiccup, which was leading the board to take extra security precautions for all users.

Moving forward, you should only be receiving captcha code prompts after a mis-typed password. Thanks again for your patience.

I had the captcha problem during the period mentioned and no longer see it. I think it worked - for me at least.

Thanks, trilo!

We're currently experience a repeat of the problem that made the board force us all to enter CAPTCHA codes at login. *shakes fist*

I'm working with the tech team, hopefully we'll be able to get it resolved shortly. Thanks for bearing with us.
