Also, last year I used the rides forum, and it worked flawlessly. You may even be able to save some money by flying into a direct destination like San Fran or LA and then hopping in an RV with fellow burners. Plus you'll make some new friends along the way!

With some car rental agencies, you could probably go ahead and reserve a car now, and just cancel the reservation no charge if things don't work out.

And don't forget that you will have to get your bike attached to, or inside of, or hanging out the back of your rental car for the trip up to the playa. Some vehicle classes can probably handle that better than others, and the rental companies don't always give you what you requested, especially when there is a run on cars as there likely is during the Burning Man timeframe. You may already have thought this through, but figured I would mention it.

Good luck with getting a ticket, we're pulling for ya!
Last I knew, 3nterprise won't charge if you don't actually pick up the rental. (Verify this for yourself; could be regional or no longer the case.)

I have used them twice for the playa (in my campmate's name, so she knew more than I) and they were very fair. We cleaned the hell out of the SUV (2009) and the van (2010), kept the vehicle closed, and got the deposit back. We were not forthcoming about where we were going, but I don't believe they asked. I'm not qualified to advise on the wisdom of that . . .

I'm sure this has been asked, but now that there's 39 pages if someone could help me out:

Signed up for two tickets in STEP. Now that it seems there may actually be a pair can I only accept one of them? If I take both and my friend ends up not being able to come can I put just one back into the STEP queue between now and August?

Thanks in advance. Much <3 to everyone who's getting a ticket.
believe it or not every burner from new york doesn't reside in the chity. there's all this green space up north you may've heard about

the burn didn't blow my mind. it reinforced the way i've always lived my life

You can buy both and immedeately turn around and sell the spare.

Welp... since it worked last time I'm going to say it again... Where are all the last minute STEP tickets before the hard ones go out? COME TO US *Does a little STEP Ticket rain dance*

Btw, something negative for work... positive for me might enable me to go after all. I'll explain later because it's not set in stone and I don't want to jinx it.

@laffinblonde

You can return one to STEP (and please do!) if need be. Out of curiosity (and my frantic step mania for a ticket) where were you in the queue?
Thanks

Did I say end of this month or end of last month? I know what month it is, my fingers are all inky from the date stamp. They've been saying June since they put forth the new ticket system. November or so? I'm sure it's in the FAQ...

There's an (as yet unspecified) June shipping date. I've not seen anything more specific (yet) than that in print, or in the FAQ. There will be an update on the main site and in the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter when shipping begins--as well as an announcement & a big ol' To-Do here on ePlaya, 'cause that's just how we roll . . .

I do know that a person can still change the shipping address of an ordinary ticket (or probably change a physical ticket to a Will Call ticket) as of right this moment, 'cause that's what I just did.

OMG... Maybe I am retarded, but I thought the tickets were going out at the end of May... I retract my previous argument about BMORG withholding the tickets another month IF in fact they are shipped at the end of June.

Expect them to go out at the end of the month, and then be pleasantly surprised if the ship anytime before then.

To those STEPPERS who were recently awarded tix in the 12:16 group, do you recall what your seconds were?
ie: 12:16:xx?

I know the timestamps are no gaurantee at all, but I am 12:16:47er trying to get a better idea of where i *might* stand.
I am getting really obsessed with my inbox :(

Hooray! Got my STEP tickets this morning (:15 min timestamp). That's the missing two for our little camp, so it's double happiness that I'm going and also that our camp is complete. Fingers crossed that the tickets keep on coming through.

Just bought my Amtrak tickets to and from NV, even tho I am still waiting on STEP (c'mon, 12:16!).

Scared shitless, but this is my positive manifestation of BMan tickets:
My Burning Man ticket IS coming. There is no hurry. I will be happy to receive it. My train tickets are purchased: I am prepared.
