Most definitely....The anticipation is...palpable. I just know I'm going to get the e-mail while I'm at work and freak a couple people out when I proceed to start bouncing off the walls for no apparent reason. I may just tape everybody's reaction. :lol:

good deal! get your tix!!!
For $100 more, you could have rented a box truck and not had to drag a tent.. and have a complete wind proof living area that's bigger than your home bedroom.. and have space to transport anything you want out there.

that's a good idea; it's not too late...maybe I CAN rent a box truck instead....

gonna go research that! (i'd need large funky painted fabric to hide the logos on truck, but otherwise, perfect!!!)

I was in a pub in Calgary yesturday and someone told me that they were awarded 2 tickets ($320) through STEP. Sorry, I didn't not ask him for his timestamp... lol.

Checking in on my fellow step children. SO HAPPY for those of you who have gotten your tickets!!

Like many of you I'm planning my trip as if I already have a ticket. I'm timestamp 12:19 but I have atrong faith that STEP will work out for all of us here. Plus there's nothin wrong with letting the Universe know you're ready whenever it is. :wink:

I actually have the 'promise' of a ticket from another source... which is not the same thing as having one so I'm not jumping up and down just yet. I hope that one comes through first so I can let STEP pass me by and on to someone who thought their chance here was less than zero.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday. xo

If you need any help just let me know! I and others swear by them for those of us not able to drive our own vehicles and transport yurts. Overall between the shelter and cargo carrying capacity, it's a no brainier. It's like having your own RV for a fraction of the price. Get a free mattress and couch and you're set. Buy food and water and bike and liquor amd whatever in Reno. All you need is one suitcase with clothing, single burner camp stove, some cooking/eating utensils and assorted crap.. and you're done.

It's amazing to me how trivial going and preparing for the burn can be made to be.. or not made to be.

And you can rideshare with some of the others on Amtrak, and haul their stuff too (especially the bulky stuff like water & bikes) to help defray the cost. Total win/win.

Jsmacks, just curious where you have been renting your trucks and how you have been getting your deposits back. There is an art to getting a rental truck clean enough that they never knew you took it to the playa. We unintentionally burned a few bridges with rental companies in our first years 'cause we didn't know how to get the playa off sufficiently. We got our own RV before we ran out of rental places and have gotten better at cleaning. Do you have some tips and tricks to help FeetOfClay and the rest of us out (while we're waiting for more tickets to drop)?

Thanks,

Budget Truck Rentals on Gentry wy in Reno know that we are taking the trucks to the playa. I've always gotten mine back. I just wash it at home with a hose and a big broom (like a scrub brush) Sweep it out real good and clean out the front real good too. Were you renting from uhaul or penske before?

The Gentry Way site has a lot of positive referrals (is that redundent?) from members of this board.

What L420 said: Budget truck rentals on Gentry Way. They are 1000% burner friendly. They know what we're doing and enjoy renting to us. You should see their front office with all the BM stuff in it. It's totally all good. You better reserve now though because soon they'll be booked up. Check out this thread with the newest discovery of the coupon code that works. http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... 9&start=90

I've never not gotten my deposit back nor had anything but a totally positive experience with them..

Hello all -

I've been lurking, obsessing over this thread for quite some time, wondering if the magic email would ever arrive. And it finally did, on Friday. 2 tickets via STEP. Our timestamp was 12:17:05 (in case you were wondering!)

Sadly, my hubbie's managed to injure his foot in the space of time between us desperately trying to procure tickets and then actually getting them! He's on crutches and in plaster for the foreseeable future and despite much pleading with the doctors, they can't guarantee he'll be back on his feet (quite literally) in time for the Burn. So, we've reluctantly had to pass on them and allow them to re-enter STEP.

However, I hope that a) this gives all you other STEP-ettes some hope that there are indeed tickets still out there and b) that our luck holds out for 2013 - please let that be the year we finally make it out to the playa from London!

To all those that make it out there this year: we'll be thinking of you all on the 1st September - enjoy!
To those still trying to get tickets: wishing you oodles of luck - I hope you get there in the end.

You could still go, Sparkles.
You can get a transport permit on the playa in these circumstances.

I cancelled one year I couldn't walk.
Sorry now, but it is harder.

Always next year.

Hi all,

Thanks all for posting when you get your STEP tickets (and keeping hope alive!). I'll now reciprocate. Just got a STEP ticket at $390 level, timestamp 12:15:59.

Here's all the original server mumbo-jumbo I can't decipher (some people are saying these are the relevant timestamps) with non-timestamp data deleted:

Received: by 10.52.183.229 with SMTP -------------------------;
Fri, 2 Mar 2012 12:17:57 -0800 (PST)
Received: by 10.236.155.33 with SMTP ---------------------------;
Fri, 02 Mar 2012 12:17:57 -0800 (PST)
Return-Path: <------------------------------------>
Received: from intic-stage-app1.inetuhosted.net ([74.85.131.61])
by mx.google.com with SMTP id -------------------------------------;

See you all on the playa! I am sending good ticket-friendly vibes to each and every one of you!

nah -- the important time is the sent time, not the received time. they didn't paste the sent time though.
