Yeah, that was probably the still before the storm. Although, I don't think we were as busy as the previous year, on the eight-day average. Of course, we had more mechanics than before. But we had a rash of ruined wheels early in the week -- on bikes that had dragged on the ground behind cars! So... hey, everybody, be sure you secure those bikes well, and with lots of ground clearance.Ratty wrote:Elliott, I remember coming by shortly after the gates opened. (Maybe hours had gone by. Maybe it was the next day). You were flabergasted at how you weren't swamped yet. You were also enjoying the calm before the storm. Hey, I left you a magnetic nut bowl to 'Put your nuts here'. If you would like some more of them just say the word. I know you worked on my bike this year but I can't remember why. You had tubes left over? Should we bring you more if we have new ones to donate?
I brought so many tubes that we did indeed have quite a few left over. Having brought "enough" was a good feeling. The rest will of course be used this year. I am buying only "Thorn Resistant" tubes now. They are so very much worth the extra silver. Donations are most definitely welcome! We can use practically any new tubes, but I recommend the Thorn Resistant ones for any and all purposes. They hold air longer and resist puncture better.
I will bring a few more of the odd sizes, and with Presta valve, than in the past, since we seem to always need some of those also.
Yes, the nut-tray is handy, so one or two more would be welcome. Thank you!
