Did you see the guy on the news with the car stolen by a bear?
Just saw closeups and it looks a bit rough now, on the inside anyway.

Of course, they've been known to eat the entire interior.
And I thought car theft was bad here.

I actually slept well last night, so that was nice. Should be a busy day, but low-key and at home. I have to make dad's shadowbox today.

We found a flag which had been cleaned hanging in his closet, unlike his porch flags which are stuffed in a drawer. It seemed a bit odd, so I opened the cleaning bag and counted the stars. 48. This is probably my grandfather's flag. He was a WWI purple heart hero, and I have the war story of how his leg was machine-gunned of on November 11, 1918. Don't make me make you google that date. He moved to Hollywood and was a film extra, mostly pirates and beggars. A shame, he was a good looking man! He has a speaking part in Captain Blood with Errol Flynn. I should get someone to help me put that clip on YouTube, huh?

Hi guys. Your letters and good wishes have succeeded! My bosses have changed my assignment and I no longer need to to sit this one out. I will BURN this year like no other. Camping with Minitropolis.

Funny the little things that bother you. In one of my last notes before I went and hid, I wished you all a merry "fuck off" or something. It's been in the back of my mind ever since. I was trying to be a burny dood who says fuck off when he means hello and all but I guess I'm not that dood. If anyone was offended by that I really really didn't mean it that way. I know you know and all that, but it bugs me and so I'm bringing it up.

In fact I was very touched by the encouragement from everyone here.

I'll see you soon! I'll be catching up on ePlaya over the next few days.

And my father .... I never met my grandfather, he died in 1941. Wish I could have met him. I can share his story sometime, it is a little long for now. Real action hero stuff.

I miss my friends as they pass me by.. That's just another bitch of getting old..

Grandfather (father in law, friend and camp mate is not comeing to BM this year.. His legs are giving out along with skin canser.. We moved him onto the property, in the geast house.. He, little dog and big cat have taken over caring for the roses.. I will be very sad to see him leave..
