Here in Washington, you can get concealed weapons permit. I have one myself. don't carry a weapon much though but it's nice to know I can carry a weapon if needed.

Sometime in the early 80's the Orlando, FL police department offered and advertised free firearms training for women. Within months the reported number of rapes dropped significantly.

Stun guns are not as fucking effective as people think.

I've shocked myself with several fucking models, they will not fucking incapacitate you.
A taser, or CN/CS Tear Gas or OC Pepper Spray, would do a better fucking job. And those require licensing in fucking California.

It is even better to get properly fucking trained in how to fucking defend yourself and not solely rely on fucking gadgets.

If by "better tazers" you fucking mean it would fucking cost you less than you are willing to pay, then you can't work within the fucking rules to make changes without causing additional violence. Your path is not fucking unreasonable but less fucking likely to gain the needed fucking momentum for effective fucking change.

Most people don't want to fucking martyr themselves for a cause they are marginal about to begin with. It is just too much fucking easier for many to accept that we are powerless without the authorities than to stand up and demand our rights to fucking defend ourselves.

If you want to redefine the job of the police, the best method is to awaken the community to their fucking responsibility to get involved and to make them self fucking reliant. If you take this route you may find allies in the very group you currently consider your fucking enemies.

His clothes & iPod were found on the cliffs above Lands End in SF. All his other personal items (wallet, phone etc) were left at his apartment. No sign of him, no way to know if he... fuck, I'm not going to say it. None of us are. There's a candlelight vigil next Friday for him called "No Mo'urning". As long as he's not found there's always the hope he just went away somewhere. Somehow.

Collapse at Indiana State Fair Kills Five, Injures Dozens

Less than a month after separate accidents at Cheap Trick and Flaming Lips concerts, a stage collapse on Saturday night at the Indiana State Fair killed at least five and injured dozens. The death toll climbed from an earlier count of three, according to Indiana State Police, and could still change as the injured are accounted for.

According to CNN, just after singer Sara Bareilles' set, a sudden gust of wind sent scaffolding and speakers crashing into the crowd. One concert goer said the stage "snapped like a toothpick," as audience members rushed to the heaps of metal to try to free those trapped. John's mother (my mother-not-in-law) had her gallbladder removed last Thursday successfully. Everything was fine, then on Saturday there were complications. She's still in the hospital. She's 85, but has a very strong will to live and is being very upbeat; however, until the doctors figure out what's causing the complication she has to stay in the hospital.

John vastly takes priority over my little camping trip, but he doesn't want me to cancel unless I have to. I'm now simultaneously supporting the very stressed love of my life and trying to plan a camping trip at his insistence.

FUCK. having just found my flight confirmation, it was on the wrong date so i called us airlines although i have a booking i dont have a ticket yet. so i called the travel agent who's number i got from my invoice, this number is not recognized. so i went to the website. it doesnt exist.

fucking fuck my flight over there is all fucked up. i havent got a ticket even though i paid for it! fuck i am really paniccing now! ive got a bm ticket and everything else but oh fuck it looks like the travel agent has fucked me over -- he hasnt answered my emails and the shop was closed when i got there about 4 today the grill wasnt down but nobody was there.

I've had bad months and I've had bad years. It really fucking sucked and drained me until I felt like just holding up in my room and forgetting about everything else I shouldn't have. I made it worse for myself, I'm still fucking dealing with it.

We all deal with the fucked up shit and stress in our lives differently, and some people do better than others. I wish I had advice or a comforting thought to give to you but only you can do that for yourself.

The only thing that keeps me going is knowing I have two weeks in the desert every year and that someday I will make it out of this dark fucking hole, and back to where I wanted to be.

Just watch out for the stress, it can make things worse for you.

Is there a way to trace the travel agent from the airline booking? They must have put some cash forward to the airline to get the reservation. Call the customer service/reservations number for the airline and find out what the status is and exactly how much more cash you need to come up with. We can figure this out.
