My sister called. She asked if I could look at old photos for any of her first husband who died almost 30 years ago. So I looked through old boxes, supposedly containing photos.
Lots of condolence notes from Scott's death. Nothing pertaining to my sister.
I need to take the notes from then and from my hospital stay and put them in albums.
But it's pretty fucking hard to go through them...

So my cobra medical premiums are going up by $100/month. The deductible is becoming $500, they added a 10% co-insurance, my co-pay is going from $20 to $45. My meds are going from $10 to $30. So my total monthly costs for premium, meds, and doctor visits are going to be over $1000/month. The epidurals I need in order to walk will now cost me $500. None of which I can afford. I only get paid $1700/month in disability. That barely covers my bills. I'm boned. I hate you America and your insurance companies are ruining everyone's life. My family is literally the only bright spot in my life right now. I am trying hard not to just break down and start screaming and give the fuck up. But I owe better than that to my man and my son. So I guess I keep going and figuring it the fuck out. FUCK.

Then it turns out the other guy she's been dating takes her, and her daughter and her other relatives out for a big sushi dinner Saturday in honor of her daughter's birthday! Good the fuck for them! He's been sneaking into her life little by little, even though she says she's not attracted to him.
Then she reveals - as I am breaking up with her - that she has Hep B and didn't expect to sleep with me anyway - although her "boyfriend" (which he really is) got Hep B shots already.

So sorry Dougly! I think there are lots of people out there who really are too wounded to open themselves up to new relationships. I know several people who would rather be single than risk attachment. My mom lived for nearly 40 years following my dad's death - although she was pursued, she never wanted to become involved. When she finally passed, she was still in love with Pop.
