Maybe. Resolution was 1m before. Not sure if it's the same satellite or not, but I would guess it is.
It's going to be alright.

I have no idea if satellites keep the same orbit year after year but this was sent out today. This group (BRC_GPS on Yahoo) is a group of techies that are trying to create mapping data for all the streets, JOTS and art (as much as they can) for GPSs. Since I'm a geocacher I've been montoring their group. Always nice to know where you are during a white out

I found that the best place to spend a white-out is wherever you happen to be.

OK, I'm out for now!

Good night all!
It's going to be alright.

In 2006, we took the big Bubble Bar sign from the side of the truck and laid it on the roof for the satellite moment. Sadly, the resolution was nowhere near good enough to make out anything but a faint pink tinge to the smear that was our truck. If you want something to read from space it has to be BIG!
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Misa is on an Air France flight #84 arriving at Terminal 1 in SFO at 12:50PM tomorrow, Wednesday Aug 25. She'll get a tour of SF tomorrow afternoon, a BBQ at my place with another Burner Leslie, who is an artist of some very significant talent. She will spend the night with one of my Artery lady friends and then on Thursday I will take her for some more sightseeing Redwood groves and lunch at my Tennis Club (remember that, Sput?) hosted by a good friend of Czech (Prague) descent. Then off to the train connection for her ride to Auburn to meet up with Doc Pyro and the final leg up to BRC

So happy to hear about the offer, LF. Great news. The new life begins!!! Can't wait to see you up here and get on our way. I am sure you will be fine by Playa time.

Flight tracker says Misa is in the air. Still trying to find a dot on the globe, but I'm guessing she's over the US by now.

Coffee?

OK, I'm taking one of those coffees.

The best info I can find online does not include a flight path, but she is in the air at 39,000 feet and probably going to be over Canada for a majority of the flight.

HI Marty.

yes, please update us on Misa's arrival.

The stove/oven and tank are already on playa.

the road going in is very different this year.......seems longer.
It turns and stays off to the side of the city until the very last.
Hopefully, it'll help with dust.

If any of you knuckleheads are coming in early, why not drop by Barbie Death Camp sometime Sunday and wish Misa a nice belated birthday? Then we can all stand in line for the ceremonial spankings. Me first.

oh yeah, also:

"The luge" on I-80 past Truckee down the canyon towards Boomtown, is fairly short, a few miles, IIRC, but quite narrow, probably only 10' lanes.
and, watch for the concrete dividers, having been knocked into your lane, from being hit in the other lane.
the protrude at times, many inches into your lane.
Which, doesn't seem a lot, unless you've only got a foot of clearance on each side of your rig.

It is like watching Santa! Flight tracker shows Misa over the west side of Hudson Bay now.

ETA: Projected flight path is 10km or so east of the playa. I wonder if she knows and is seated on the side of the aircraft facing it.
It's going to be alright.

Thanks for the link Sput. It's great. I am enjoying watching Misa get closer and closer to her destination. I hope she had lots of sleep on the plane, sound like Marty has big plans for her when she arrives.

My poor ride share from CT is sitting in my living room with nothing to do. Feel totally guilty. Want to be HOOOME. Working until 5pm tomorrow night (crashing out on the couch of a friend who lives close by) to that I can get some extra hours in before take off.

Less than 48 hours now. Still need to get some shopping done.
Finally moving to SF...can't WAIT!
