Guns, Love Em or Leave Em

Never seen that abbreviated before.
There is a bill that requires state reciprocity that is in congress year after year.
Lobby all your representatives to pass it.

Tell us about the rifle you posted with the ax.
Why don't you post those pics in here?
Was that a selectable VZ58?

Positively Restricting Citizens. An it can be "prc"ed!! It's not just the lawmakers here, tho - it's the self-absorbed urban citzenry as well, who fear that which they cannot understand!Misa wrote:This is quite funny...prc means "fuck" (noun) and prcat is "to fuck" (in a little nasty way).beer wrote:Peoples

How bad is the process? And once you get it, how restrictive is the license? And in a statement sure to perplex most americans who won't understand, she wrote:And I will start to learn for my "gun license" in Springso I can be friend with this one.
In Italy it's tough (tho not impossible) for a foreigner to get a firearms license - tho the local Carabinieri either smile and nod, or look at you like a member of the Brigati Rosse, depending on where you are and who your local capitano is. VERY DIFFICULT if not impossible to posess "former military calibers" - sux as a considerable amount of what I shoot is in "former military calibers"...
Most people have at least a shotgun or 2, if not a couple rifles in our part of the boot... Hunting season is a LOT of fun in Umbria - kind of an exclusive club, once you're in, you're in!

When you shoot the old Mosin wear a nice thick coat.
The 7.62X54 kicks like a mule.
If you shoot it at night it throws about a 2 foot flame.
Lots of fun.

Did I tell you guys I fired the P40?
I had a lot of posts get lost.
Not sure about some.
The P40 is the 40 calibre version of the P11 I carry.
There is a 357 Sig version too.
It was really quite easy to control.
The vibration was very different though.
I only fired ten rounds, felt like I'd been running an undamped chainsaw for an hour or so.
My hand tingled for about three days.
Firing hundreds of rounds with the 9mm does not have this effect.
May be hitting a specific resonance.
The P11 is 14 ounces and the P40 is about 15 oz.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
I was over to a friend's buddy's home last week. He heard that I was a gunsmith and collector. He asked if I'd like to see his guns to which I said Fuck Yes!
He had six. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I had five out of six in my own collection.....

I may try turning some bullets from brass on my lathe, to get a longer bullet to see if it'll fly more stable, further downrange in my .375 H&H. I remember long ago, getting a box of Barnes bullets, that were made that way.
Any thoughts?

There's a class of bullets made for this.
Some are even boattailed.
This is the effect my friend wants in the modified AK I mentioned once.
There is an article in the Rifleman somewhere.
I can look for it if you like.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
I can't see trying for long range accuracy, to the degree these bullets would would be intended, in an AK.........
I'll do my own research, thanks though.
I'm just soliciting opinions from folks here, on the brass bullet idea.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
It wouldn't actually be an AK anymore, except for the base.
AKs can be accurized for 800 yards like the VZ58, but they weren't normally built to this standard.
The concept seems to work, less power more range.
The conversion that seems most convenient for the modified AK is the Grendel.
I'm certain there are a few bullets of this type for your rifle.
They typically reduce the powder capacity, but make up for it with less drag.
Less force up close, more further out, in comparison.

Yg, if you aren't asking about ballistics, what are you asking?
As far as I know big game bullets have been made that way.
They often have rings cut to reduce drag in the barrel.
Copper or copper alloys are still common, 95/5.
Too hard a bullet can cause the barrel to ring, among wear and other issues.

The officer that saved the child attacked on Halloween from a dog, received a written reprimand today.
I think it was for having the wrong gun on him.
Next month he will receive the Lifesaving medal.

Gyre, where you asking about this picture?

Yes, I have to have license so I can shoot and own gun. It has the test part and the practical part where I have to prove I am able to operate it,
dismantle it, secure it and all that stuff...they are gonna change this soon and will add the need of psychotests, so I need to do it rather quickly
or I will never get it

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Great photo, Misa!
Is that a select fire VZ58?
The best receiver option available for my gun is made by D technik in Czech.
Pricey here, though.
I think we'd all be interested in the details of the requirements over there.
I can't help wondering how the psychological testing is supposed to work?
It's a mess here.

I myself keep vacillating on either the Browning Buckmark or Ruger mark 3. Think I'll wait till Nov 7th for that, there's a big call out on other forums to buy a weapon on election day.

Re: Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
Sounds like a good deal.
I would just buy when you want to.
They have been using one gimmick or another to sell guns and ammo forever.
The rhetoric changes, but it always adds up to buy something.

The IPC is Agilite's latest breakthrough, designed to efficiently carry the most important load you will ever carry-an injured friend.
The IPC, which is intended to replace the fireman's carry, allows you to carry an injured or otherwise incapacitated person comfortably like a backpack. Designed by Agilite in conjunction with Israeli Army Special Forces, the IPC allows the wearer to evacuate a wounded person and keep their hands completely free to operate a weapon or navigate difficult terrain.
Practical not just for the military, the IPC allows you to carry an injured fellow hiker long distances in a way that is more comfortable than any existing method, both for the carrier and the evacuee.
