I can sympathize with Brad, somewhat. It took years for certain people in the org to realize Autocad could draw pretty pictures that actually made their lives easier.

This thread title has been giving me nightmares (why did I click it?!!!)

Brad is the guy who takes the cool wide angle photos (schweet photos Brad) and it seems this traffic control is his thing (must be a gearhead/city planner burner type?)

I had a great time in the line to get in, there were a series of fun party busses that turned on full blown music stages when the line stopped.

My BIGGEST concern is, If some of this "new" stuff/tech were used, how would we, that need to pee, not get out and go into our tow-along trailers and take a leak? (some don't even have a trailer!) It ain't easy to pee in a car, is it?

I'm not looking forward to showing up having pissed my pants!! (those travel piss devices do not work for me, and think of the women!) Drink water to hydrate on the way in, but don't piss whatever you do. I suuure hope you make that line to get in ultra fast!

Maybe it's a good thing I show up in the middle of the night, 'cept this year there was still a 6 hour wait (and four piss breaks later) the gate and greeter waved me through. I drove straight to the potties

I always get afraid that I'll overfill the pee jug too!

In the end, no "tech" can reduce the line wait better than exodus--the counterpart to the utopian, searchless line Brad envisions. It still causes multi-hour waits, giving you more than enough time to hit the john.

This is why I think this whole thread is an exercise in fighting over the remains and feces of time spent.

I was away for the weekend, having a life, but the truth is there's little productive to be gained in this forum, or any forum where people devolve to just criticising personalities rather than discussing the ideas. The folks who actually have worked gate provided useful info. The amount of negativity from a few others is a shame; folks with thinner skins and less experience are surely being driven away by it elsewhere on eplaya, whether they have contributions to make or not. Fortunately most real burners in real life don't act that way.
