"use a pun, go to prison"..........you guys are good!! ha

well, I don't see the birds using the pool...........I wonder why? It's by their feeding area, up high so cats can't get at them, nice granite with a sun deck and diving rock. I don't get it. Folding chairs and umbrellas maybe?

Weird thing about animals and water, Ygmir. I've seen a cat walk right past a bowl of fresh tap water, and proceed to drink from a mucky old puddle full of rotting leaves. I guess it preferred "tea" to water. But I think they are creatures of habit. Give them time.

Yeah Elliot, I agree. I also note that they are not feeding as much from the granite bird feeder, the pool sits on. Maybe the change of landscape has them cautious?
I have to think, as dry as things are, they would soon figure out they can drink and bathe there, though..

Loved all those puns. Our last cat preferred the toilet bowl to his water bowl as his water source. Cat tea???

Skipping Precompression this year due to a birthday party for a very good friend the same night.

I was one of those who followed the Warriors in the NBA Finals and was really excited to see that nice group of mostly 20 something multimillionaires beat the Cavs and win the first franchise championship in 42 years. Pretty, Pretty

Got to start making my Playa Schwag. Time is growing short.

One of our cats prefers running water, and ideally likes to drink it as it's running off her head. She'll drink from a bowl, but she enjoys sticking her head under the tap from time to time. She enjoyed it enough as a kitten that we got one of those running water filter/fountain things when she was a kitten. Her preferred method of drinking from it is to stick her head under the stream, then drink it as it rolls down her face. Very funny stuff. Funnier still, I've noticed that our older cat now does it too, every once in a while when she thinks nobody's looking. I can't tell if she's warming up to it but doesn't want anybody to know, or if she's just trying to figure out what the other one sees in it.

Last night's dinner and hanging out with my girlfriend's parents was really nice. This week was my first time meeting them, they're good people and we get along. We had a lot of fun drinking wine and talking about/showing them art, and them showing us some of the pics they've taken on their travels and the art and music they do, then we strolled up the hill and grabbed dinner at a favorite spot. It looks like their plans for Saturday have freed up a bit, and they're interested in coming out to pre-compression with us.

Tonight we've got plans to see Eddie Izzard, I'm very excited for that!

The camper shell proceeds apace. Got the window covered, now on to screen re-covering. All temporary, not going to the moon. My goal is to bring it to the Hof, although knowing that Gramma Car won't be able to pull it up the rest of the climb. Hoping there will be plenty of butch vehicles that can help, ok w hiking down the hill to sleep in it.

I need lots of caffeine this morning. I've got lots of things to get done around the house, plus a few design projects to try and crunch through... then Pandorra's parents are coming over to hang out for a bit before we go out to dinner again.
On the subject of puns.....Shakespeare used them. Mark Twain used them. Both thought of them as lowbrow humor. Nonetheless, both were literary giants and geniuses, in my opinion.

Geologists as a group are awful punsters.

Some of the puns get downright awful. Metamorphic geologists who claim their favorite mineral is 'cummingtonite' ......they lead me to the other end of that particular group of minerals....grounerite (Groaner, right?)

I'll leave everyone to ponder on their own puns. Enough pun-ishment for today.

I think I'm going back to bed for the rest of the day.
I'm already tired of the t.v. and I don't want to sit around.
Maybe I'll check out this place I've heard of: "outside"

"counter at Costco", well crap, I forgot it was that easy. My red raspberrys are in full spring production, I have to pick every other day. My back is killing me. Whenever I have someone "help" they eat more than they put in the boxes.

If anyone wants to come over and pick some, just let me know. Remember, I am on the East coast here.....they are tasty. I have learned over the 26 years I have raised this genetic strain to not eat ANY while picking. I rarely, if ever, eat one while picking. I make jam out of them all. My dogs, however, will steal 2-4 while "helping".

mgb, I know from where you speak.

I grew up in an area of east Tennessee in the 1960s noted for its blackberries. When I was 5, kids used to earn $2/half gallon empty paper milk container full. Blackberry cobbler that was home-picked is still THE BEST.

Today, prices for a mere half-pint of berries is 5 times what we used to get for a half gallon. Sad.

There were three hazards when picking berries - copperheads, ticks, and moonshine stills. We'd do a 'tick check' every evening to get the little things off, and use a lot of DEET-based repellent (no permanone in those days). Copperheads - you looked where you were at, and hopefully one didn't slither up too close to where you were going) Moonshine stills? Avoid.

That area of Tennessee was the murder capital of the U.S. in 1965. Why? Moonshine war. Folks wanted control over the 'white likker' industry.

And, BTW, happy birthday, mgb327.
