Both.
It's called ricing up a car.
Beware the more subtle jobs.
They are usually the faster ricers.

So is a riced up Honda gonna be faster than a blown 427? Or those wonderful old 3 deuce carb GTO's?

Depends on the car.
Without a turbo, it really isn't a contest.
A friend has an early civic with an acura six cylinder in it.
About 200-250 horsepower, around 2000 pounds.
Faster than most cars.
They can be very good cornering cars.
At the high end, they have around 800 horsepower at the wheels.

I beat the high revving cars by upshifting.
They gain 50-100 feet and then they have to shift.
I don't.
It's like they slam on the brakes as I go by.

But there's always a faster car out there.
The Supra turbo II is considered to be one of the fastest.

Of course, my car used to have a turbo.

Sometimes I wonder what happened to my feet.

Left on the train tracks or taken back to the hospital as medical waste.

I think this is a question I don't actually want answered.

I have heard of people having burials and services in situations like this.
If you're inclined, it's no crazier than any other memorial.

When you're single,
you're exactly as happy as you are.

When you're married,
you can only be as happy as the least happy person in the relationship.

A sense of foreboding starts wringing in my gut as I slowly unlatch and lift the lid of my toolbox. At first glance I don`t see what I`m looking for, and a restless, clawing probe of the contents reveals to my anxious eyes
the rolled up nylon bag I`ve been searching for. A gleefull chirp subconsciously and suddenly bursts out of my mouth, and a crystal clear calm runs through my insides as I grip the bag and feel it`s contents. It`s a feeling I`ve had over and over in my lifetime.
A powerful, confident feeling. Secure, steadfast; ready to conquer practically any challenge that faces me.
I untie the straps and slowly unroll the bag, and a smile comes to my lips as I see them gleaming in the appointed places.
Fuck the mealy-mouthed crescent wrenches and those sloppy assed open ended abominations.
I scoff at your slipping, stripping and burring.
Give me instead, one the most fabulous of all inventions.
Give me my complete set of chrome vanadium nut grasping MASTERPIECES !!!

Nothing on earth comes close to the feeling that comes
from having a set of box end wrenches near when you need them.

Q-Do you think someday women will have equal rights?

A-We have them now.
Some women just don't know how to use them.

The restoration place I was temping at remembered me when I stopped in to pick up a job application today, which I take to be a good sign. I also got a letter from the state for a job interview. Apparently the job is a part time one. If I am lucky, it will be a nearly full time one, in which case it should have benefits.

Wednesday I went in for the first of two 12 hour shifts the temp agency got for me at a plastics forming company. As it turned out, the whole shift was spent standing at the end of a machine, and by the end of the shift my ankle was bothering me so much I could barely walk (even after an Avil Migraine, an Excederine Migraine, and two Aleve.) When I came in to work the next day, the temp agency rep asked me how Wednesday went, so I told her, and she decided I probably should take the day off. Today I went in and they had me sign a statement saying I refused medical treatment for an injury (although, as I repeatedly explained to them, the injury was from an accident about 7 years ago, which I had seen a lot of doctors about who couldn't agree on what was wrong), and I told them "No more 12 hour shifts!" When they asked me what I thought about working at that particular company, I told them that I liked the co-workers, but didn't think that their management knew what it was doing. Maybe I was a bit too honest.)

I may be broke, but I am better than Bush. At least I haven't gotten as many people killed just to satisfy my ego.

August 11 is my birthday, and my big plans for the day are to take a state exam in an effort to get employed once more by the State of Wisconsin. Do I know how to live it up or what?!
