Well, I did it! I dragged my ass in there and did it. Yay! I feel like I can breathe again.gigglesnort wrote:hell yeah, tonight is the night.....I can feel it! the return of the flow. I am *finally* resuming my tai chi practice.
I told my teacher I didn't feel comfortable taking free classes based on any supposed enlightened skill, because I don't feel very enlightened but more like an idiot most of hte time, and he said they had talked about it and thought perhaps I could teach some classes for them. wow.

I just met a woman who has changed my life forever. She edits the local alternative magazine, and I've read her for years, a hero of mine; she fanned my spark of interest into a little flame when she wrote about going to burning man last year in her paper. So I emailed her recently with a snippet of my story, including spending my bill money on a tickent and recently flaking out on my transcription job; she emailed back w her home phone number, and I just spent hours in her living room visiting with her about everything. Our conversation inspired her march cover. there was something about a lakota shaman, and a pirate who once upon a time smuggled medicine to cuban orphanages, lavendar, a white owl and a chinese fence, and amsterdam.
And she wants me to write my own story for her magazine, and it appears that I now not only have a ticket but will also have a ride to burning man this summer.
Hell yeah!

Hell yeah!
Going through papers this weekend, I came across the old phone number for a friend who, at least notice, was in Iraq with the Stryker brigades. There's probably no reason on dog's good earth that we should be friends, but we seem to ge along stupendously anyway, and have for years.
I tried the number and lo and behold, he's home - and in one piece. I don't know how, considering that his vehicle was blown up six times, but he's back until redeployment next year.
One home safe, one to go!
Rian,
who is taking a trip to Fort Lewis soon.
