Wasps!!!! In my teens, while returning from a skinny-dipping mission in Sequoia Park with two other girls, we ran through a hollow and broke open a yellow-jacket nest. I was stung 27 times below the knees (and nowhere else) because I was wearing bright yellow-orange knee socks.

I think there was less pain than fear becuase my brother had become deathly allergic to stings. - Thankfully I had no allergic reaction and have no lasting consequences except a hatred of the viscious little buggers. We ran downhill from Ella Falls to Sequoia Lake and buried ourselves in the mud.

Actually, I rather like the mantids we regularly see on the Playa. They're very polite company. One friend used to feed ours on raw hamburger.

Then again, after seeing those FUCKING WORMS in "King Kong," there ain't a real bug on the face of the planet that gets my goat anymore...

Those have to be the nastiest fuckers I've seen yet. *shudder* ...I'm sticking to the beach bars, next visit to Skull Island!
