Somewhere I read the full sordid story...the landowner had a major grudge against Burning Man, was one of those who tried to stop the event a few years abck and was basically looking for an excuse for revenge. The Contessa was parked with the permission of the landowner's tenant, but when the tenant left the premises, the landowner seized an opportunity to torch the Contessa with, what he thought, was impunity. There will be a pint-sized Contessa this year thanks to a guy named Eric in Denver. He has a "short-bus" that he is making into a replica of a Chinese junk. Look real good so far
