Last year we left late afternoon before the Man burned (we'd already seen it once that week), and we just breezed up to the Gate, and out- I think we shocked the hell out of Gate staff. We made Reno in just a couple of hours of open road, and stayed over night.

If you leave just before Temple burn, or just after it, you should get out fine. I wouldn't wait until morning- but make sure your driver is well rested!!!

last year i had a flight to catch in SFO early on Monday so we decided to play it safe and leave early Sunday. We left at 8am and were out of the gate in less than an hour I'd say.

It was sad not to see the temple burn, but it was also nice knowing that I would for sure make my flight.
