Definitely a cool idea. We too (as every year) are bringing shot glasses screenprinted with "Moonshine Tavern". Ours will be actual glass though as someone in our crew has a hookup for both the glasses and the screenprinting. :D

My personal stash last year was 3 bottles of USSR vintage Russian Vodka brought back from East Berlin and some various flavors of Cpt Morgan rum to make walk around drinks with.

This year I am keeping it simple and bringing just vodka. I am still working on the best way (as in lightest) to keep it chilled for my walk arounds.

We brought Baileys to the playa and used it in the morning coffee. It did fine. Did not curdle. Of course, it did not last long, either...

How do you make Irish cofee with bailey's? The only way I've ever seen it made is with cofee, whiskey and cream.

1) Let cofee cool down a bit. It must be below the boiling point of alcohol which is around 80 degrees celsius.

2) Add whiskey, lots of whiskey :D

3) This is the most important step. You must pour the cream over the back of a spoon which is held at the level of the cofee. This is done to ensure that the cream floats on top and does not mix with cofee.

While this method might not be playa friendly because you need fresh and un-whipped cream, you could always just use cream in a can I suppose.

On Saturday last year, I drank nearly a bottle of Dalwhinnie scotch (after drinking margaritas at a bar on 6th and E?), and went ass-over-tea-kettle into my big red tent and broke the bloody tent. It was a slow-motion bike crash. My friend Chi said it looked like I was under water.

Dalwhinnie is definitely on the list.

We always have booze to take home, get out there and don't want to drink in the heat.
You can always donate it to your local Moonshine Tavern. We ran out of liquor by Thursday last year and had to get donations to stay open. By Thursday afternoon I was mixing all sorts of strange concoctions that you wouldn't dare drink at home. How did that Peppermint, Peach, Root Beer Schnapps taste anyway????
Ya, the running out of moonshine part........much of that responsibility goes to the camp i was in. We found you on sunday night, some of us just never left the whole week!

Camp EZRA has already added liquer to the budget for when you run out again from us lushes!

My general rule is to only drink beer during daytime. Exceptions would be made for someone offering a nice cold margarita or blender drink (after all, to refuse would be rude, wouldn't it?). But night-time works well for cocktails.

As said several times above... NO BEER IN GLASS BOTTLES! No, the glass bottles don't explode, but they're a bitch to have to manage and haul back, and you definitely do not want to have any kind of broken glass on the playa.

As for what we take? Tecate has become my 'playa beer' - I know there are tons of better beers out there, but the taste of an ice cold tecate on the hot playa is just plain magical for me. I usually get a few 30-packs, which is more than enough for myself and plenty to share with friends/guests. Pani prefers Corona, and last year we found Corona in cans at one of the local Bev-Mo and stocked up. We tend to go heavy on beer, since we can always take it back home and drink it without worrying about it going to waste.

For us, booze is a different thing. I don't think we have a standard shopping list. Last year we brought 2 1.75 liter bottles of vodka and ran out (fortunately a friend gave us an extra bottle they had), 2 1.75 liter bottles of rum, a bottle of Maker's Mark (what I call the victory dance - gets opened up when we arrive at the gates and shared with everyone in celebration). We also had a couple bottles of Jameson and a big-ass bottle of Jagermeister to give to specific people as gifts. Oh and we tried one of those Heineken mini-kegs, which seemed to work out great.

While fruity/frozen drinks sound great, they are a lot of work. Twice now we've brought out the blender and all the fixin's, but when it came down to it nobody in our camp ever got around to bustin' out the blender and whipping something up (and my campmates were not lazy people). It was always easier to pull out a beer during the day, or do a simple mixed drink at night.

Er, Trilo ... didn't you mean no beer in bottles?

At the last two regionals, we used a new Rubbermaid 3 gallon drinking water dispenser to mix up mondo batches of mai-tais. Heavy on the OJ and pineapple juice, with rum and other goodies. The container kept the drinks iced for days. We practically lived on the things.

I also have a hand-crank blender, and no, we didn't use it at all last year.

Bloody Marys go the fastest at my bar. Something bout tomato, that cuts right through the playa dust in your mouth.

Pani and I have been tossing around ideas for bloody mary's. Keep going back and forth between tomato-infused (or even heirloom tomato-infused) vodka and basil-infused vodka to kick things up a notch....

A case of Pabst Blue Ribbon, the beer that made Milwaukee famous. Per person per day
