yeah, I have several friends with disabilities that aren't so visible. I do understand that........
But, these looked to be very healthy car loads and one pickup, of folks that either didn't know or care..........

Maybe we could set up an area like a drive in movie?...........devilish grin..........with surprise speakers...........

A lot of burners consider the event to be pretty much over by then.
Probably has more to do with that.
I've never left before monday myself.

oh yeah, you guys rule!... nOW i remember why I came to burn

Post by Craiger13 » Tue Sep 02, 2008 6:09 pm

What great imaginations, a frat boy, crashing the hot springs party? Driving 40 on the E ( I knew you would love that one :), I have since learned to take the whole thing with a grain of salt, and remind myself that people will be people... dogshit will be dogshit.

And if it smells like a duck and quack like a duck, then it must be a human.
As the saga continues, I have taken things to the next level with peace and understanding and have release the entire experience to the universe...

I forget you guys are looking for entertainment, and since there is plenty of entertainment in this story... sit back grab a beer and have some cheese with your whine......

i've got an even better story of how things ended.... i snuck back in for the temple burn and had the most amazing time on mushies (except this time, I left the megaphone in the car

Lets talk about enlightening experience....I found healing afterall, in the mist of the chaos.... THIS IS true.. we find what we are looking for....

for those interested in SEADog and the whole ranger crew.. I absolutely agree, MOST of them are really cool, and just want to keep the peace, but some of them where abused in high school and are on a power trip (even thought they sometimes 'act' cool. BLM and the rangers were really cool too, I saw one of them with purple hair really getting into the vibe, although he wouldn't get on vibrater art car....

Perhaps they were fearful in me being in front of the burning man office as I was so peaceful and calm and they couldn't understand why I would have been kicked out. . GUiLT is a mother fucker, and EGO speaks first and loudest.....

Just some random thoughts, oh yea back to the entertainment...... so I was tossing flame throwers into the theme camps and yelling burn motherfuckers, burn and the fratboys were behind me with their pussy whipping chains, yelling eat me fuckers.....

STaY tuned .....(also see my other seeds)

So, Craiger, exactly what happened?

here is what happened....

Post by Craiger13 » Wed Sep 03, 2008 9:06 am

I thought the stories that people came up with where much more exciting that what actually happend... what wild imaginations, I guess thats why I go in the first place.

Here is what actually happened. Yes I did not RTFM (read the fucking manual), and had I then the whole thing would have been avoided......

So grab your pop corn and butter up your peckers......., even though not too much to get exciting about... (except for the fact that what happened to me, can happen to any frat boy fucker who doesn't read the manual... (even though I am not a fratboy)... even though I must admit that reading the manual probably wouldn't have made a difference.....

HERE GOES.....

SO as I mentioned previously, I was driving on the Espandage... I was actually looking for A, but the fuckin signs were torn down, so I ended on on E, and was trying to find my way back to A. I had not eaten in 2 days, as my food was in a trailer at my friends camp, which i spend 2 days looking for..... so I was trying to find my way back to A, as I didn't want to drive on the Espanage with all those people walking anyway. I was tired, and my bike was fucked up.....

I was driving slowly and Ranger BADGER tell me to stop.. so he proceeds to get out and tell me NOT to drive here, I told him I was looking for my friends and couldn't find A... he tell me to get off the E (not the drug, but the Espanage), and was totally uptight... He was very unBlack Rock Rangerish as the 'other' ranger was totally cool the days before even helping me find my truck, which I carpooled in with (I drove 2 of my vehicles/trailer)...... so BADGER, literally Badgers me asking me a series of questions as if interigating me. I was pretty shocked (I know that's what I come to BM for, but not this kind of shock)...

Anyway, as I jump over all the hurdles, he tell me to follow him off the Espanage, which i do, and here is where I made my 2nd or 3rd mistake (I'm loosing count.... I never said I didn't make any mistake... one not RTFM, two,, driving on the Espanage, and 3...

then I get on the megaphone and try to relax him, which ends up backfiring on me... I though I could make him less uptight, yelling things like would somebody give this guy some drugs and then I'm talking to some people while I'm following badger off the E..... (come to find out later;; 2 of Badgers pet-peeves, riding on the E and the megaphone ;)

Long story short, even though I am putting nobody at risk, except for Badgers Ego, Badger proceeds to come back to my vehicle and grab me reaching in my vehicle and getting completely violent... I didn't have time for this shit and mistake #4... I decide to leave to scene, and go near lamplighters, about 2 blocks away, and park it there.

I go on with my night, and finally find my friends (everything happens for a reason), and let things settle down. I go the next morning to let the higher up Rangers know what had happened, thinking they would 'care', not realizing at the time that they would try to 'protect one of their own', which is exactly what happened. BUSTIN ( totally cool 007) and Atomic decided to boot me....I knew it was a political decision as BADGER is a long time Ranger and I am only a second year burner.. What i find interesting is that Atomic begin asking me about if I'm with a theme camp or why I come, as opposed to dealing with the details of what happens.. I'm sure to see if I am tied in anywhere to protect his ass. I was told they would be unbiased, but come to find out they know Badger pretty well.

One interesting twist is that BADGER told them I ran over his foot upon leaving..... and that is one thing I find interesting as he was not hurt.. lets face it if you run over somebody's foot in a DODGE RAM 1500 pickup truck, I would guess they would be hurt. Either way, I guess Badger felt a need to throw that in there as unproper ganda......

So that is the whole truth, nothing distorted, exactly how things happened for all those who can handle the truth! I guess that is why on the back of the ticket it says basically play at your own risk........and even through any neglect on behalf of staff or volunteer or participant.

i was only the 3rd person thrown out this year.... so I guess I have bragging rights ;)

I must repeat, I am not looking to bitch or for any sympathy, only to educate people ... what happened to me could happen to any participant, and to inspire positive change.

Ok, you must be kidding me.

First off, if you haven't eaten in two days- you are either an utter idiot or a liar. What do you think a desert is? It dangerous to pull that stuff in extreme conditions. It sounds like you are trying to justify driving on a heavily crowded street because you are lazy. Everyone else at the event parked when they first got there and then walked or biked. You are not special, princess.

Then when he told you to get off the esplanade, you started fucking with him- ridiculing him with a bullhorn. But you don't have the balls to say you were fucking with him- no. You were trying to 'relax him' by insulting him and trying to get everyone around the area to see him belittled.

And then you got kicked out of the event just because you came down to complain about a ranger.

Right.

Based upon just your 'true account' of what happened, I seriously doubt that was the extent of the story. Matter of fact, if you did run over his foot that would make sense if you got kicked out. He didn't press the issue, yet you were stupid enough to come down the next morning and demand some kind of punishment be given to Badger.

Self entitled little pissant.

Yup, I would be pissed if I was a Ranger. Even with your "padding" of the story, it sounds to me like you could have used a babysitter on the trip.

Now I can understand getting streets confused when signs were stolen but you would have to have a severe case of Down's Syndrome to confuse the A ring with the Esplanade. Hello! When you see open Playa, it's time to turn around, don't you think?

Additionally, good work with the megaphone. Nothing calms a situation like blasting smart assed comments in their face. I've seen your actions a million times when police officers try to arrest somebody at a bar/club (without the megaphone of course). The difference is that police officers have special training to deal with idiots like yourself (and even they slip) but BRC Rangers do not get as extensive training. They are human and are put under a lot of stress during the week. You probably think you are the only yahoo they had to deal with but I'd imagine there were hundreds and you were the straw that broke the camel's back.

You try and make it sound like you do your best to follow rules, yet you make mistake after mistake and then even sneak back into the event. So you think it's a badge of honor (aka. bragging rights) to be booted out? Get a clue. You need to start blaming yourself for all the shit you get from people.

Oh and thanks for repeating the fact that you are not looking for sympathy and are only trying to educate people. You ain't going to get sympathy from any rational person here and the only education you gave us is that the BRC Rangers are doing their job. Looking at the situation, Badger kept his cool more than I would have. If I was the ranger that confronted you, there would be an APB out for your ass right now.

i ate, just not a 'good meal', and I was NOt belittling him, calling him names, only getting him to lighten up.. I don't owe anybody any justification and I realize that people like to blame, and I guess I should only expect people will point fingers at me.. I guess what they say is true .. when you point one finger, you have three pointing back at you.. and I did point a finger at Badger. I guess I am an idiot for trying to change burning man for the better... it is already great! But the truth is that if people continue to be on drugs ALL the time and get that EGOs involved it could be dangerous for EVERYBODY.. but i guess thats why people like BM so much.

i admitted my mistakes, and I did bring good intention with me to BM, but sometimes we have to make the best of a 'bad' situation.

So I was right. You were lying for sympathy. Not eating for two days is a little bit different than not eating exactly what you wanted.
Craiger13 wrote:and I was NOt belittling him, calling him names, only getting him to lighten up..
By telling everyone around you to get him some drugs. And obviously not dropping the issue. How far out of high school are you?
Craiger13 wrote: I guess I am an idiot for trying to change burning man for the better...
By what?
Being irresponsible and not self relient with your supplies?
By selfishly driving on a crowded street while impaired by sleep deprivation and (self admittedly) hunger?
By arguing with, and then publically fucking with, someone trying to just do their job?
By running over his fucking foot?
By then trying to get him in trouble when he didn't turn you in for running his foot over?

The best thing you can do for Burning Man is not go if you can't lose your massive ego and feeling of self entitlement.

I call bullshit. Badger has a sharp tongue and a sharper mind to back his ass up. Violence is not his style, and I have a very hard time believing what's coming across as a Texas sized whopper of a lie concocted to cover your ass.

I hope he comes back to the board and shares his side of the story...from what I've heard from others he showed maximum restraint and deserves kudos for how he handled the situation with you. You should count your blessings, shut up and move on.

He failed to mention that this occured only after driving around the Esplanade ALL week long. The story about parking or looking for places to camp only last so long. The dudes pickup almost took me out TWICE during the week. I'm glad Badger and the Rangers booted this shitbird. Who know how many folks he jeapordized with his the whole playa is mine to drive on attitude.

Read my post on page one.. I've done alot of acid and I know the difference between whats real and not. If I were a Ranger I woulda probably shoved his bullhorn up his ass.. guess thasts why I'll never be a Ranger. I could never be as nice as Badger is to some folks.

Hats off to the Rangers.. you all rock!

This guy already brought this up.
If any ranger did something inappropriate, it should be brought out.
And it isn't fair to the rangers not to air out what really happened, either way.

I think Craiger understands he flunked the diplomacy test on this one.

Being fair, if you do manage to get on the esplanade, it can be hard to find the turnoffs when it's crowded.
I know I keep passing them on a bike.
By the way, I think A was closed to traffic this year too, wasn't it?

Just a couple of things~
Why were you driving at all?
You said you lost your camp.
Do I understand that you thought it was okay to drive?

More importantly,
Badger proceeds to come back to my vehicle and grab me reaching in my vehicle and getting completely violent... I didn't have time for this shit and mistake #4... I decide to leave to scene, and go near lamplighters, about 2 blocks away, and park it there.
This is too vague.
Exactly what did Badger do?
Was he trying to take your keys?
What exactly?

And as far as being "fair," I wonder if he knows the meaning . . .

There's still some things missing from this story...

Post by jcoffy » Wed Sep 03, 2008 4:00 pm

It is impossible to get the truth out of this guy because he was directly involved. (3 sides to the truth, yours, mine, and the the actual truth)

But from what I gather it is really his inability to take responsibility for his actions that is at the heart of the matter.

He says things like "I admit I made a few mistakes" but really doesn't understand the consequences that these so called mistakes set into order.

1. "I didn't read the manual." (No Excuse dude. This doesn't get you off the hook for driving all over town looking for your friends. Did you read the manual your first year either? This isn't a new rule.)

2. "I didn't eat for like 2 days" (This is nobody else's responsibility. You are a grown man....eat. If you did not take the time to take care of yourself for two days or even two hours it really isn't anybody else's problem. It is your responsibility to feed yourself. This is not an excuse for driving your truck around joyriding or looking for your friends.)

3. "I couldn't tell the difference between E and A" (I know it's hard. On E the man is either on your right or you left...on A there are camps on your right and your left. This is a terrible excuse that doesn't help your cause. Take responsibility...you were driving when and where you should not have been.)

4. "I was trying to chill him out with my megaphone saying things like "can somebody get this guy some drugs." ( This is absolutely ridiculous. You were pestering him. You were acting like a spoiled brat. Take responsibility for that. You deserved more than a beating for that.)

You might actually have run over that Rangers foot. How do you know that you didn't? You drove off. Over to where the lamplighters were and hung out. Maybe you really did know that you did it and then you were hiding out...Who knows. We can't get the full story from you because you can't own up to any of it. You talk a good game about truth and honesty when I get the feeling you can't grasp either one.

I am not blaming you. I could care less. But this is happening to you because you think it's just ok to say "I made mistakes" and then think that we on this board are going to just let you off the hook...."you are right the rangers ARE bad!" And then say some shit like I have already released this to the universe. You need to understand that what you did could have hurt somebody...And you might actually have done so. Not only did your actions effect your adventure but possibly 1 or more of someone else's.

And personally I just think your an asshole. The Rangers have a hard enough time and you think it was fun to mess with one. You suck. I hope you weren't that person I met at the phone who couldn't find his friend and said they were supposed to meet you inside Burning Man....with no location. You suck.

Young man, you are very, very lucky to have been cared for by Badger. I'm a little, older lady - and I would have loved to kick your fucktard ass all over the playa.

You should get what is left of your belongings back in a plastic bag. Particularly since you abandoned your vehicle.

You say this is your SECOND year on the playa - just how stoned do you have to be to miss the fact that other people aren't driving their cars/trucks around - missed that for 2 years did you?

To the powers that may be listening, please try to never sell this asshat a ticket again, and thank you very, very much for ejecting him. Thank you Badger, for doing a hard and sometimes thankless job.
