Based on what I've read it sounds like he's got a legit complaint....I'd be upset too and asking for the $60. BM LLC has known for years that their ticketing system is jacked up, there are hundreds of previous posts on this very board complaining about it. The statement that it was out of their control is utter crap, and that statement is nothing more than a smokescreen to cover someone not wanting to get off their rear end, investigate, and do the right thing.
The LLC is a business now...and as such, they should demand accountability and performance from their vendors. To allow these kinds of problems to continue year after year shows incompetence.
That being said...I know a thing or two about complaining to businesses and your attitude and approach sucks serious donkey balls. The diplomatic approach works...and is something you should try first before rushing into online forums and spraying your vitriol all over the damn place.

Sure he has a bitch, doesn't mean it worth anything though. I just am at a loss to understand who is responsible and where the money would come from. Someone else got his ticket(s) should they have to give them up? Can I get a refund also?
Legally, what is the responsibility of the borg to make sure the internet works, that your connection works. That in-ticketing works? I am sure the income to this point is budgeted and spent. What fund would there be to draw on to make refunds? The injury fund? The DPW beer fund? I think those funds are untouchable.
Mike, I promise you that all that energy you have is gonna make for the best burn ever. Man you are movin',.. speak to us about the "evolution of the Man" in your past years? did you make any connections? do you plan on seeing them again?
Final thought for this post. If this went wrong in year 12, think about what is going to happen in year 13... a sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
What happened was the system was overloaded and failed. There was no "bait and switch" since the tickets you missed where sold to someone else. apparently someone with a little more patience (low blow) perhaps.
If the person who got Mike's tickets is reading this, write him a letter and let him know how much you appreciate him letting you cut in-lin. sounds like a couple thousand "cut in line" . Man you should have woke up and bought some more, the note said MAYBE...
I can't eat fucking popcorn it gets stuck in my teeth, but I love those frozen ice cream balls, shit brain fart.

Jeepers, this thread sounds just like one of AIIZ's attempts at comedy. Too many "easy to upset" lines tossed everywhere in his posts.
And still not funny, just sayin'.....

actually ... i do not terribly mind paying the extra .... i was more upset at the let down, after being online 1/2 hour early, refreshing every second at 9:59 looking for the link, waiting for 1/2 hour, and going through the sales screen multiple times, only to get an error message ... over and over. but i can't exactly sue for emotional distress.... nor would i want to. shit happens.
the truth is, i'm dying to go to BM ... i never have been, and can't quite see a little extra money keeping me from it. as wedeliver says, someone else got those tier one tickets, so i am happy for them. it costs so much to go, and the conditions are so harsh that you really have to want to go anyhow ... isn't that true?
and .... screwy as online ticket buying is, i think it's easier than an old system of going somewhere to buy them, or writing.

your going to let 60 bucks not put you on Playa? I know it sucks, you feel wronged, but if your not there, how does that affect BMORG? They get fed less if your not there? they make less? nope you already bought the ticket.
There is no guarantee of service with the website. i dont think you have a claim IMO. You could simply dispute it with the credit card company and go from there. they are your advocates as well.

It seems the problems were almost regional?..........
I got on at 780 or so......got in in 15 mins, and out.....no glitches or anything, had an email receipt in about 5 mins from completion........
I'm in northern CA, I wonder who did and didn't have problems, and, their locations?

full price at the walk in outlet two blocks from where I work will be only 24 bucks more than what I paid on Wednesday with the service charge and UPS delivery... I logged in at 6:45 PST, click click, type the word I see, pay pal please. done. It took me longer to find my paypal password, written somewhere, than the whole transaction. The stress you early buyers went through sounds pretty hairy.
what would I pay 60 dollars for, to see or bring, that would be more valuable to me than just being at burning man? can't think of anything.
sorry, I vote keep trying on the refunds, persistence is not a bad approach. I think the tantrum is for some other reason.

On line for several hours, 23 times I got the message "may have been completed" but I kept trying until I got a confirmation email. Guess what?... I got charged for 3 sets of tickets. Guess what?....Burning man refunded me the same day for 2 sets. Guess what?...I paid with a credit card and I'm from Canada. Guess what?...Every time there is a conversion transaction be it a purchase or refund, Visa charges a lot of money to do so. Guess what?....Credit card company ain't coming to your aid! I paid an additional $123.00 for 2 tickets. But you know what?... Bush is out of office forever!!!! I get to go to burning man! And the fact that you and I are even in a position to buy a ticket, own a computer, get water from a tap or have been remotely educated, means we are among the richest 8% of the worlds population and for that I am grateful. I can't make BMORG give you your $60.00, but I can make things a little more right in the grand scheme. So, name your charity of choice and I will make a $60.00 donation in your name.
If you would like to see things change regarding the BM ticketing procedures or policies, volunteer your time with the BORG. Their fault or not, I'm sure they would welcome any opportunity to make things go smoother in the future.
Peace

Your best bet would be to write a sweetly worded letter to BMorg and let them know what happened here. Give specific details of the incident and ask nicely for the refund. No threats or anger, just a level headed person asking for an adjustment to correct a problem. With things in writing, they would be more likely to accomodate you.
If that fails, you will have a copy of the letter to approach the credit card company with.
I can feel your frustration and the feeling of being violated, but don't cut off your own nose and handle this cool and calm for the best results.

The only thing I think the CC company will be able to do is to cancel the charge. I doubt they will be able to get you a portion refunded. But you never know.BurningManScrewedme wrote:Actually, thats a good idea.... just get the credit card company to fight my battle. Thanks, I will look into that... good idea!

You right, you have been screwed... As you where "buying" you ticket you were also being scanned over the internet using "Cool Burner 3000" software.BurningManScrewedme wrote:Never thought this company would stoop to these lows... read below, then read the answer I got from "Samantha" at the BORG:

I would like to get a refund of $60 due to your server generating the above message. I got this message at 10:00am I was among the first 250 orders in line.. I was DEFIANTLY WELL with in the first 9000 tickets. According to the message above, it APPEARED that my order went through. When I called to check the status of my purchase, later that day, the rep on the other end of the phone stated that my order HAD NOT completed.
When I went to purchase tickets again, it was too late as the first 9000 tickets were already sold. I feel I am deserving of a refund of $60 as your servers did not take my order when in fact I was VERY MUCH in the right position to get 2 of the first 9000 tickets.

You failed. In fact, you suck. The whiner posts you have left here have proven the software WORKS!
You were not allowed a cool ticket, & the later ticket you bought will arrive with a broken piece of candy, if it arrives at all.
Presenting said ticket at the gate will get you no where, as it has already been flagged as a fake.
p.s. no cc refund for you.
