If you really cared about the environment even 1/40th of a percent as much as you claim, you would shift your focus. Let's see....a week long event vs. an annual heavy emitter of pollution with an impact that covers states, hell entire geographic regions, and your still going after the event?allanon2 wrote:

If there was ever ANY doubt as to your true intent, it just got unmasked with that statement. Your priorities need to shift, and shift quickly.
This powerplant has now become Enemy #1, the chief threat to the Black Rock Desert as we know it. Where are they going to get their water? BM might tap into the privately owned Frogpond site for 30 days. This plant will be tapping the aquifers all year round. And what about the fly ash and other particulates coming out of the stacks. Forget about particulates coming from water trucks, those stacks are 10,000 x worse. And what about the BLM being asked to give up public land forever to give them railspur access? What effects will the increased train traffic have on wildlife in the area? Remember...this is an annual problem vs. BM's 60 day window.
With this kind of threat looming you would be foolish to keep attacking BM. This threat has even deeper pockets, is even better connected (pun intended)...if you want to pick a fight, pick this one. Those of us who care for the BRD need all the help we can get. Otherwise, the next time your friends go out to the BRD to race their Neons, you won't be kicking up just playa dust. You'll be able to suck in a nice load of fly ash and other particulates too.
Re: I knew about this for 1.5 weeks or so
then why don't i tackle the high levbel radiation power dispoasl site in Southern Nevada?
or the destruction of the amazon rain forests? or the over fishing, or increase in CO2 emsiions world wide?
i know more about BLM and BMORG and what ocurs their than most people so this is what I am good at.
why does BMORG not fight the powerplant? why not have all 30,000+ camp on their 200 acres? that would sure make a statement.
Why tell me what to do when BMORG has done nothing itself (as of yet)
I have helped a few people in gerlach with ways to fight this. I have talked to 2 of them on the phone and exchanged emails with a few others. helping them with suggestions on what they can do.
