As long as it is uniform, level, and on the firm side, I don't have any problems. Old canoe beds suck, and so do sofa beds. I made the mistake of thinking a sofabed would be a good choice for a studio apt. (didn't Mary Tyler Moore have a sofa bed?) wrong. that bar in the middle of the back is a killer. Now I have a loft up above my desk. Climbing up there is like having a bedroom upstairs.
Some sofa beds are amazingly comfortable.
I think the best I ever slept on was a pull out.

True it isn't common.

:D
A big issue for me is length. Most Twin and Full size are only 74 or 75 inches long. Of course, I am accustomed to a Queen size, which is 60 x 80 inches.

BUT... Tempur-Pedic shows a Twin Long at 38 x 80 inches. Since I don't really need a Queen wide bed these days, that Twin Long might be my next bed -- saving me some floor space in the bargain.

Decisions, decisions. But lack of proper sleep is a serious medical problem.

I think many companies make long versions now.

I asked Comfortex and they will make larger versions of their beds for an rv, on request.
Prices ranged from $300 for a smaller to $850 for queen size with the fire blanket wrap, which adds $30.
They don't have the temperature issues of the tempurpedic.

They have a 100 day return/swap.. Today the brought out the new Sealy.

You can only swap once.. The 3 salesman I dealt with are used-car salesman type of guys.. I had fun with them....

Have been seeing some of the bed you want on craigslist. People are selling them to make the house payments...

Not default world but my 4 in 1 Coleman air mattresses for the 2010 Burn just arrived. I had borrowed a double high this year and with the sleeping bag it was very comfortable.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

The wife and I have gone through several beds over the years. Sleep number, super whammy high dollar Serta bullshit, water beds, etc.

We bought a mattress at Ikea of all places 3ish years ago and it has been without a doubt the best mattress we have ever had.

I have back problems, too. I got radiation treatments right above the tailbone and it damaged nerves back there, so every so often my leg goes painfully numb and the back muscles seize up. It's not arthritis.

Anyway, I sleep on a memory foam mattress that I got at Costco a few years ago. Everything else about me loves it but my back and right leg won't be placated by anything.

I was considering a Sleep Number bed. Thanks for the tip, it's probably a case of "the grass is greener…"

Afterthought: The best sleep I've ever had in my life, believe it or not, was in a friend's recliner chair when I went back to New Orleans to visit some time ago.

Ask comfortex if they can do something special.
The one I have, has removable cubes to tune pressure areas.

During the winter, I sleep in the living room next to my gas heater. On my futon bed/couch I've placed a full size mattress, 2 quilted covers for softness. Double sleeping bag on that, which I crawl into. On top of the bags I have a sheet and 3 blankets. On top of that I have 8 grandpa pillows I position for comfort. I have obtained all this on Freecycle or Craigslist this year. Your trash is my treasure.

Nerve damage? Cuase that's why I take it. And, oh boy, if I accidentally skip it's horrible.

Ears?
Tinnitis?
Does it work for that?

I was on it for a short time and they gave me a lot of dilantin after my crash.
It helped with pain for me.
Lately I hear about side effects from dilantin, but I didn't have any, other than being fuzzy headed.

Get a stiffy imo. Seriously. Get a hard one if you want to fix your back problems. A soft bed just makes them worse. This was the best advice my dr. ever gave me (it fixed my back). Cavemen didn't sleep on pillow tops.
