OK, applicants to join the Chai Guy Fan Club may form a line to the right. No smoking in line.

And what precip said: Darlin', drama just oozed up outta the ground out there. Spare yourself a predictable source of friction. Well, not that kind of friction. Some kinds of friction can be kind of nice . . .

Nothing comes more of a surprise to you when you didn't know you were breaking up for the summer or that there's no plans to get back together... You spend a year supporting someone through cancer treatment and you find a dear john posting in a discussion board.

*pats him* Dont Fret, life will go on. Things will get easier eventually of course just as they get better they will go down hill again, but you will always have burning man to go to. A place to get away from everything, cut yourself off from the world and just get lost

This is a good one, and the subject- 'possible awkwardness'. Sounds like you were bound for drama no matter what. Also sounds like you both did yourselves a favour.

boy. I was told that things had changed since the posting. she's fiercely independant and fears anyone infringing upon her independance, understandable since I had a lot of controlling people in my life until i gave them the heave to.

but I took her to Kauai for a week as a post cancer thing (every chemo I was there, neither her mother or father were there everytime), and she left me two days afterwards and started going out with someone else. wtf?? I remember holding her hand while they were accessing the port ( a device implanted in the chest in order to avoid collapsing of the veins). and I still care about her as an echo, but it's funny... anyone ever seen Royal Tannenbaums... she took cancer like Gene Hackman had it. it's fine and dandy to have a great attitude but when you don't recognize those that have given you time then, whatever.

why am I sharing this with everyone? because it's so GODDAMNED FUNNY! and just rediculous. I shout at it RIDICULOUS just like in Harry Potter -- imagining her in a purple outfit with a silly hat)... How could anyone have the gaul to do this? I can accept breaking up for the summer and never getting back together, but shit, man... don't be so goddamned transparent as to talk on the telephone to him and engage in discussion s about how weird he is. I don't know but as an eloquent person stated before... we've done both of us a favor. This had been a rediculous relationship and I fucking can't wait to go to burning man. meet some art freaks like me.

whats weird is this girl opened up in me a great deal even though she was a pain in the ass to deal with... none of my friends liked her... hell my roommate didn't even like us as a couple.

sorry stuart about not getting you the model... my life has been in kinda fucked up lately.

I hope to meet up with all of your guys at BM. I just bought my ticket a couple of days ago.

Viva la France. May your windshield wiper fluid always flow freely. all bets are off... I'm just gonna work on a cool costume with stilts.

does anyone know about mopeds or other motorized vehicles and if they're legal at BM?

Cancer is a vicious fucking beast - both to those it invades and to the people closest to the patient. Post-treatment breakups or other relationship upheavals are common. (My husband is nine years in remission from advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma, and while we're still together, the relationship is NOTHING like it was before he got sick.)

I wish the both of you the best of luck; if either of you want a chance to talk to someone who has Been There and Done That, my mailbox is open.

Dude, that's fuckin' nuts, and downright dirty. Dunno how much you're leaving out (including your own possible culpability) but that's fucked up regardless. Here's hoping you can drown your sorrows in Bacchanalia.

StayFrosty--
I have to say that your break up ranks right up there for pure humiliation and gratuitious extra pain with my college boyfriend who let me pay for the ticket to Milwaukee because he wanted to break up in person.

It's not fair, but it's life. You'll learn a lot; maybe you don't actually want to know it, but it's usefull. I learned a lot about what kind of person I want to be and what I value in others. I also have some trust issues at times, but at least when they arise I can often go "oh yeah, dave." Yes. You got burned. Take that knowledge and go on as best you can.

it's those signals that you have to read and do something with, and realize that someone's gonna take you for as much as they can get. The next time I get tweaked out from trust bullshit, I'm gonna use cryptofishist's advice and think, "oh yeah... Meredith"

So I done wrote this song about it, in order to put this crap behind me, advice from an amazing musician friend in england. It's funny, for theraputic purposes, musicians tell you to compose, artists tell you to make something, and writers tell you to write.

The songs based on a craigslist posting I found while looking for a motorcycle, much like this thread I found on eplaya, and it stated that the guy she left me for was "the last chivalrous man" cause he put money in parking meters for her. last I checked putting money in parking meters pales to that of standing by someone facing death by tumor. but hey... I'm not complaining... just stating the obvious. doi. So I wrote a song. and it goes a little something like this. I recorded it on 17 tracks on my computer with vegas video. I'm doing all the harmony and instruments.

it's at http://alliefox.tripod.com/music/nomodernmiracle.mp3
