Foxfur - tinker till you tinkle baybee! Virginitis is a beautiful gift that you only get once. Enjoy it.
If you want to participate on-playa, I'd be more than happy to hire you for Poop Patrol (see: All about participating in the pottie-project thread). You seem like an energetic lad, and this would give you a front seat view of how this glorious art festival really works.
Good luck,

Looks like I'm a free agent!
The friend who invited me (not the same as mentioned above)
and her hubby are most likely not going
.
I'm still going.
They are, however, more than likely going to 4th o' Juplaya.
I'm highly likely to go as well.
Bring a few (dozen) guns, 45lbs of tannerite, flame toys, cases of fireworks, etc.
Tannerite would GREAT for gifting!
I'm still going to the real burn.
A bummer it is that buddygal isn't but there's next year.
In another way it's going to pretty neat going solo w/ no
set plans for a camp but stocked for anything.
On arrival I can cruise (@5mph) around and look for interesting real estate,
talk to odd folks (norms are weird), and maybe even run across someone I know.
It may take a special sort of neighbor to put up with the poofs.
But hey, if anything breaks, I'll be right there to help.
I can't wait!

YAY I'll listen for ya at 4th of Juplaya, sounds like you'll fit in PERFECT. Tannerite is FUN!!!! We use it to reduce old office equipment to nice small recyclable pieces.Foxfur wrote: Bring a few (dozen) guns, 45lbs of tannerite, flame toys, cases of fireworks, etc.

Frankly, stop thinking. Just do. You are what the Burn is all about. Enjoy!Foxfur wrote:Hot damn! You folks RAWK!
I'm building the poofers, solar still, and hello bad kitty stuff
on my own time & dime, no problems there.
It feels to me like they're concerned but unable to
express it in a way that does not come off as
condescending. Their first burn was somewhat of a catastrophe,
which really is a bummer and I'm sorry that they had to go through
that experience. But you know what? They've had a blast in all
the successive years in which they've attended.
That's a wonderful thing.
It won't ruin my burn, no worries there.
Either they'll understand or they won't and that's out of my control.
We'll get on fine I'm sure. They've been an important part
of my life for so long. Old couples will have their crotchety days.
I am bringing no expectations.
I expect disasters of unknown magnitude and unpredictable significance.
I know without a doubt that I will have left at least
one needed item at home.
I look forward to and relish the adversities that are to come.
That's how we grow.
Thank you to every one of you who've responded.
You've given me the sanity check I needed.
"Participation" simply means different things to different people.
Imagine that
I will tinker with joyous abandon!

Be careful about buying fireworks on indian reservation land, then transporting elsewhere. Some of the wonderful things available on the res are not legal off the res. Transport may require a CDL with hazmat endorsement (federal law) and state permits/licenses to posess and shoot.
Not intending to rain on the ritual, but folks up here in the northwet do get pulled over by LEO coming from the res f/w stands.

Play it safe. Avoid fireworks, embrace liquid hydrocarbons.

I'd play if there were a course or field setup like
office cubicles and the managers were zombies, yahoo.
Damn EspressoDude, I don't even know what to say.
I guess we're not going to see you at 4th of Juplaya.

We don't vote for a rookie of the year, but I put you in the top ten for this season on eplaya. It's early yet, we had a few bright flares last year.

You just don't know the right people.
The big fireworks places are both in tennessee.
One is in at least one flm.
In combat? Yes. I would have done so without hesitation.
Fortunately I never had to.
In self defense, same.
In paintball, not that I can't, just saying I always have the safety aspects in mind from a lifetime of drill, "do not point a weapon at anything you are not prepared to destroy"... So it causes that internal alarm to go off
