Re: The official BMORG statement on 2012 tickets and theme:
OK PLEASE don't tar and feather me for two reasons
1. We all know about feather and MOOP.
2. I personally am hoping they keep the Tier tickets going. This will be my first year. I'm a full time college student who works a full time job that only pays commission. I don't make jack. I am going to have to save every nickel I get to be able to afford to go in 2012. So I REALLY don't want to have to shell out almost $400 for a ticket that's a month of rent for me.. $210 is still to much but hell what can you do.
Any hooters. I wish they would let us know the theme. I want to start sewing my costumes and getting things figured out.

in some years past the theme didn't normally come out till mid December.
it has only been the last couple years that it has come out early.
be patient.
also if your that broke allpy for the low income tickets, if they still have them when they come out.

Re: The official BMORG statement on 2012 tickets and theme:
Blah blah blah.
The tickets that come out in ties.. Most of you will get beat out by people that can afford to have faster computers.. That's not you low income people.. The first tie is sold before you can hit enter.
My income is well below poverity level.. Still I will figure on 400 for a ticket..Last year it was 360+..
Then the cost of gas and other travel +..
On to food and shelter once you get there.
And your going to worry about keeping up with the THEME
Yesterday I picked up 3/4 pound of lead 4 1oz. flattened cans and 2 cans to recycle @ 5 cents each. This from the house to the store and back.. About $2..
Have been making and selling flower boxes made out of throw away wood..
I'm doing one thing a day for m trip to BM..
I can $$ AFFORD $$ to stay home or stop whining and woork my ass off to go..

Re: The official BMORG statement on 2012 tickets and theme:
Don't sweat the theme and costumes. We started down that line last year, then switched to costumes to go with our theme camp (barbie death camp), we had a couple middle-aged barbie outfits, kinda fit the theme and the camp, but once there Ken (the stallion) ended up just LOVING sarong's and a pink cowboy hat, and none of the barbie stuff was loose enough to catch a breeze and I LOVED wearing loose flowie things that drifted around me in the breeze. So, just make comfy stuff, a tu-tu or two, and enjoy yourself. Most IMPORTANT, you will be riding a bike or walking around ALOT, don't costume yourself into not being mobile.tattoogoddess wrote:OK PLEASE don't tar and feather me for two reasons

We started a jar, if we pay with cash ALL hard change goes to the jar, if we pay with debit then we get the minimum allowed cash back at that store and in the jar it goes. Adding up already.

Hooters are a great costume. Don't skimp on the sunblock.
I dig in the same costume closet/bins/drawers year after year and never worry about the theme. Whatever is comfy is best. One over the top costume is enough for anyone.

Any chance those outfits can be retrofitted? You might give them to a costume camp, if you really are done with them.

After all the ticket fiasco bull shit in July/August, I'm planning to buy some extra tickets this year, then gift them.
People may snark that I should by 1 $400 dollar ticket if I can afford it, instead of buying 2 $240 dollar tickets and gifting one. Or I might sell the ticket dirt fucking cheap, like $8 for shipping to me and another $10-15 or what ever it takes to ship insured to them. Let folks snark. I'd really like to gift a ticket to someone that deserves one. Too many good people got screwed last year. Or for all the "I was saving my money, now I have enough, but tickets are sold" tell them to donate their money to some really cool art project, then send them the ticket.
As for as 2011 launch day tickets sales, you are 100% incorrect. (unless of course you're just making a point)unjonharley wrote:The tickets that come out in ties.. We actually got 2 of the $210 dollar tickets about 5-6 hours after they went on sale. Mind you, there was an hour and half of down time right in the middle.
Also, as long as you don't have cookies turned off, and you don't clear your cookies tell you have purchased the ticket, it doesn't matter how fast your computer is.
Once you hit the ticket page, a cookie is deposited on your computer, that's your 'number' in line tell its your turn.

Super curious about how this is all going to shake out..

1. Past purchasers get 1st dibs
2. No tiers
3. Mail order with check/money order only. (no credit cards)
4. RV's require addl ticket.
5. Early Entry for addl fee.
Options 2-5 will result in increased revenues with the same number of bodies. Win/Win...

1. Past purchasers get 1st dibs Possibly.. although doubtful. Radical inclusion and all.
2. No tiers More possible and actually plausible
3. Mail order with check/money order only. (no credit cards) No way.. logistical nightmare.
4. RV's require addl ticket. Nah.. that's kinda crazy
5. Early Entry for addl fee. Nu-uh. Especially with how control freak they went on EA pass holders this year.

Re: The official BMORG statement on 2012 tickets and theme:
THE BELOW IS MY PERSONAL MUSINGS AND RAMBLINGS, AND IS IN NO WAY CONNECTED WITH WHAT THE ORG IS REALLY DOING.
(Disclaimer, in case someone actually thinks in this matter than I'm NOT talking out of my ass...)
The JRS says in small print the ticket sales begin in 30 minutes (which is why you need to sub to JRS). You click on the link, and it assigns you a number. Then they do a draft lottery, as your number comes up, you can buy up to 2 tickets total. No more, just 2. Period.
If your number doesn't come up, sorry. If our system glitches and loses you in the lottery system, sorry. If the servers crash and we lose track of the tickets, sorry.
I actually suspect that what will happen is it will go like a concert ticket, you buy it in your name (and if more than one, in their names), your ticket has YOUR name imprinted on it along with the other info. You can't go, you have to sell it back to the org (for face price, which will likely be one price), who will then resell it (actually a new ticket with the new owner's name on it) at the same price, and grind the old ticket. No resale of tickets except through the org.
Your ticket has to match your name.
That would solve myriad issues. A little bit of a hassle to set up (that's what's taking so long?) but there you go.

a lottery for tickets? lunacy, there are many people who simply have to be there. What happens to BDC if doc doesnt get a ticket? or any of the othere camps with a central leader?
plus if dont get a ticket i will start black rock citys next top assasin early till i do get one. just saying.
i think early bird tickets previous purchasers,
how about all tickets numbered? number is to a registered buyer, resale means telling ORG who is buying - like will call but with physical tickets.
Also will call only for ferign buyers? NOT FAIR. I WANT TO FONDLE MY TICKET FOR MONTHS LIKE YOU OTHER FUCKOS.
sorry i seem to be bit shouty tonight.

tickets did not sell out until what? June? July? seems like enough time, even if it goes crazy fast... still at least a few months to get one at highest price for sure.
I had extendable roasting forks, marshmallows, hershey bars, and graham crackers in the trike basket on most evenings this year... never broke them out. even had wipes to clean up with. Seems like the perfect time never presented itself. ask me in 2012. er, someone Mdf? did mention s'mores right?
