now I'm not getting the pop up when a PM arrives......I get the email, though. And I have pop ups allowed from Burningman.eplaya.com or whatever. This may coincide with whatever changes made for youtube blocking?

I'll point you back to your preferences and settings. First, check your User Control Panel settings to see if that's how the site's configured to notify you. If it is, then check into the preferences and settings for your browser.

yup, done those........but I'm not so good, so, it may take me a while to figure it out. it's both computers, so, not sure if it's the antivirus maybe, since they both use the same.

just thought I'd put it out there, in case others were experiencing it and if so, might be a clue.

ygmir: For Chrome, try clicking on the lock icon near the address bar. In the dialog that pops up, set the the popup options under the permissions tab. I'm using version "32.0.1700.41 m Aura" if that makes any difference. It works about the same for Firefox as well.

Yeah, Chrome is annoying me, and it was so good until lately. Not just the videos here, which I can cheat and grab the url and paste it in a new window... but Chrome won't let me into my comcast email. I can on my tablet, but not my phone pr laptop. I have to use IE, which I despise.

Argh.

I so understand. I switched from firefox, because it would not let me chat on FB. But now this chrome issue. I don't use IE at all......I don't even let it update.
And chrome won't let me into some of the PGE sites, some sort of log in issue. So I have to use Firefox, then, anyway.

Chrome is a browser that I want to use, because of its performance, but it is simply too limited in what I can do with it. For example, I hate horizontal tabs. Chrome used to have an option to allow vertical tabs, but Google, in their Apple-esque "experience it our way" wisdom, axed it. The best part of Firefox is that it has an extremely robust extension system. I can use extensions like Tree Style Tabs (the best for my uses), UI fixers (e.g. enable titlebars, etc.), status-bar plugins, the whole works. They even let you move the buttons around anywhere you want, which is nice. Chrome doesn't allow any of that, so I'm stuck with UI failures like no titlebars (sucks when the horizontal tabs are too narrow), horizontal tabs, etc. which I can't fix with extensions.

My latest pet-peeve-almost-deal-breaking-defect with Chrome is that they've switched their scrollbars to use some stupid CSS version instead of the native operating system scrollbars. This is almost deal-breaking on my laptop, as those lame CSS scrollbars don't work with my laptop's Trackpoint scrolling. For some weird reason though, on my laptop, when I installed a stable version of Chrome where I was previously using a beta version, it kept the native scrollbars. However, I have not been able to replicate this on any other computer but that laptop. Some people have even gone through the trouble of binary-editing the Chrome program to rename that stupid scrollbar style, but that would require changing it every single time it updates, and I wouldn't be surprised if Google prevented the program from executing if modified as a security precaution in future updates.

So overall, I've relegated Chrome to a "toy browser" I use when for logging in with different credentials or other stuff. Firefox is my workhorse.

Well, I did resolve the email issue, wasn't Chrome screwing things up. But eplaya is still the land of the black boxes. Most of the videos I want to see are over on FB anyway.

Those just mean there are non-secure elements on the page - in this case, the youtube videos. It's all going to be something we have to deal with while Trilo figures out the way around it. I'm on chrome, I have black windows. I know why, I know how to view the videos, I figure I can deal, just like I do with all the other pages Chrome does that to. (Still prefer Chrome to Firefox, but that's all very individual. The bf prefers Firefox...)

you don't have to pass, ASD.
just click on the far left icon in the address bar, it'll say it's blocking content and give you a drop down box. select "allow content on this page" (or something like that).
But, you have to do it each time you visit, but only once per visit.

I'm using firefox and see the black boxes and the link to the russian site at the bottom of every box. Should I be changing something on my eplaya settings or my firefox settings?

on firefox, look at the address bar. on the far left, should be an icon. click on that. It should say something about blocking suspect content. there is a drop box that says "keep blocking". click that and it'll say "disable blocking on this page". click that. It has to be re done at times, but, that allows stuff here, while not other pages.

I've made a few tweaks, and adjusted the horizontal hold. Please let me know if this video (Pandorra's clip of the man burn) displays and plays properly for you...
