STEP Details Announced!

What you're experiencing is the system working as expected. You don't have a ticket to sell, and it knows it. As has been posted in several places, the system does not open up for buyers until tomorrow.

My burner profile page knows that I have a ticket and there is a link to sell it into STEP. I'm betting a link will show up tomorrow for those that don't have a ticket yet.

Trilo, in reading the ticket support page it seems that someone who has only purchased one ticket in a previous sale is not eligible to try to pick up a second ticket through STEP. Is this accurate? If so the Org might consider changing this next year as the currently policy encourages overbuying in the initial sales.

We had someone in our camp only buy one ticket, but now his girlfriend might be joining us. I suppose she can set up a burner profile and register, but it would be so much simpler if he could simply opt to queue in STEP for the ticket he declined to purchase when he had the chance (thus giving someone else a chance that day).

That is a result of a personal choice and none of the orgs business!!!

They can't fix everyone's petty problems.

They don't have to try to fix anyone's problems, but they usually do a good job in addressing them (ie, transferrable STEP tickets with improved screening process.)

My only question would be then, if she makes her own profile, can she use the same IP address as her lover, and can she use her lovers credit card to purchase the ticket without being flagged by the ticket people. That might be the reason why FossaFerox wanted to use the same burner profile, because lots of couples live together, and not everyone has a credit card.


GRAYWOLFLOVER: It'll be on the main dashboard (first page soon as you log in,) on the lower right hand side.. if it's the same as the ticket selling option.

STEP is many things.

Fast isn't necessarily one of them.

Get in the queue, hit the button, and then wait and watch your email.

I have Welcome to Burners Profile page open (the dashboard), and wondering if this is what everyone is keeping an eye on?
Do you think the STEP purchase link will be posted there?

@HappySarah - give yourself a really good slap in the face (lead with either cheek). Now switch hands and slap the other cheek. Now, relax. STEP isn't an instant system - tickets flow at the rate they are contributed. Hint: it's really really slow, ESPECIALLY for the first couple months. People who have tickets but may be on the fence don't usually make up their minds until late spring or early summer. If and when you are successful and you get an email notifying you that tickets are available, there isn't any need to rush. You have 72 hours. Take a deep breath or two, take your time and make sure all your information is correct when you enter it. Burning Man is a marathon, not a sprint.

Don't understand how they have such a smooth ticket selling process, but STEP is beyond fucked up from everyone I am communicating with. Disappointing.
