If I invite a friend over for dinner at home. I don't need a schmancy certificate of health. I understand trying to keep disease and junk from spreading, but if I make a friend on the playa and invite them for a meal at my camp, would I need a schmancy health certificate? When I personally cook, I always wash my hands. Because not doing that is disgusting.
Also, you could turn your commodity food item into a neat art project so they can tell what is on it still, but now it's something new. Just an idea. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what an Oreo is, even if the label is covered.

I wouldn't worry about it (on either side). If you can't stand seeing the labels, then cover them up. Or if you can't stand someone covering up the labels, hold your hand up so that you can't see them doing it. Either way, everyone gets to enjoy the EXTREME crunch of Doritos(TM) (now in new Sun-Dried Tomato Madness flavor!) washed down with a refreshing ice-cold Mountain Dew Playa Blast (TM) + Krug (TM) cocktail!
