I don't know the ETA of any official announcement at this time, but personally think of mid-month as being in the middle third of the month. Stretching it, you could probably call anything after the first week or before the last week mid-month... but that's just how I personally see it.

The delay is annoying, but understandable. If some kind of meaningful progress is being made, I'd say take your time and don't worry about anyone getting worked up over whether info is posted mid-month or not.

Strangely enough, exceptions are typically made by the state of Nevada for things like boxing matches and auto racing.... presumably because those events are considered to be a major draw that brings in tourism dollars from outside the state get spent in Nevada.

I don't mind that exceptions are given for boxing or racing, I just think that the same rules should apply. The majority of people who attend Burning Man are not Nevada residents, and burners spend tens of millions of dollars in Nevada (on supplies, hotel stays, etc). If we don't get the same treatment that boxing and racing get, you can expect that your net price per ticket will go up another $40ish.
It's clear to me that those in charge of Nevada state government (i.e. Casino owners and alcohol distributors) give racing and boxing events a free pass because of the revenue they generate. The (comparatively) minimal sales taxes and economic boost to Northern NV is a drop in the bucket to them. Taxing BMORG directly is worth the risk of us finding another state to run around naked in.

Its the same reason they have the draconian drug laws they do -- anything the competes with boozing and gambling must be crushed. They are quite unabashed about this. They will NEVER decriminalize pot there either, for the same reason.

Pot has been decriminalized in Nevada since early 2000's. We also have medical mj. Recreational use is going to public ballot at next election

and BMORG will just pass the tax on to us (most likely) it really doesnt add that much on to the price of the ticket. And if you dont think any other state would want a piece of that pie, youre delusional
Oh my god, it's HUGE!
