I spent the week wearing the sneakers I traveled in. After a week on the playa, I banged as much dust off as possible and wore them home on the plane.

Not a very exciting story and I just dealt with it. I found all my shoes when I got home. I didn't post my shoe story, because it would not mean a thing to anyone.

When you look around your house, I think you'll find your missing eye wear.
You have posted this story before, unless forgetting shoes is common on the way to the playa.

If someone were going to rifle through your bags for goodies while you were stopped on the highway, it is far more likely they'd grab the entire bag, go through it in their own vehicle, and ditch it. Unfortunately, it is far more probable this happened once you were in BRC. Locked RVs doors and latches are no big deal, although why a thief would go through all that trouble for trinkets is odd ... unless they were not being malicious, just thinking they needed googles and a metal neck warmer.

But really, Oakleys? We used to get decent knockoffs down in TJ for under ten bucks. Stealing them means the thief needed eyewear, reselling them is just not worth the effort.

I had the toy goggles stolen off my camp skeleton in a dust storm years ago. Totally useless, which is why an inanimate object was wearing them. The sunglasses they left in place were better protection.

I understand why you'd think highway rather than in the city, but theft, especially theft of opportunity, does happen in BRC. It is frustrating, angering and sad. Not much we can do here, as this community is a tiny fraction of the population. Also, never mistake eplaya for The Playa. We'll hug you to death there, but rattle your cage here.

I don't recall posting that riveting story before, but I may have mentioned in passing.
More importantly, we are on page TWO! 8)

Simon69, Sorry you lost your stuff. Think back for a moment. When you were leaving Vegas did you come down in a separate elevator from your luggage? Did you go to 'check out' and meet your bags at the car? If the answer is YES, call the hotel and complain.

I WAS ROBBED ON THE HIGHWAY TOO!!!
When I left Oregon I had a full tank of fuel. When I got to BRC, a bunch of it was gone!!! Not all of it, but definitely some of it. Someone must have siphoned it while in line at the gate, we were all stopped for hours.
If someone saw anyone selling fuel, let me know so I can get it back somehow.

Yeah, those are some hot ticket items. Do you have any serial numbers on the goods to help police track them down at local yard sales?
