Get those mini sharpies that have a metal loop attached their cap so that you can attach it to a necklace or buckle to just twist-yank it off to use and then not lose the cap either.

Can't believe I have to do this, but here's us on vacation on Kauai right now with our friends, who thought it was hilarious.
Racist my ass, you're the only on who picked out race. I'm not having you call me that.

Admiral: Can you photoshop me in there too? And maybe Unjon, because we'd need chum for shark fishing later.

Re: The best pen
The best pen is the one that only writes things that agree with your views and opinions and never (ever) challenges your conceptual cocoon.
Ah yes, the perfect pen.
Lucky for us this new pen will be digitally implemented on eTwitta so we will never (ever) need to see a scary picture or read words that make us uncomfortable. It's like a giant digital pillow of love that we can wrap around ourselves and never have to worry about those other people. You know....THEM.
Oh look, a blast from the past from a 1 post sock account.

My favorite pen of all time! I like the 08 as it is a thicker tip which I find easier for using semi cursive writing.

Re: The best pen

This is MY pen. I consider it my only piece of jewelry. It's a bit expensive, but in business I used it as a weapon. I kept in close to me. I signed countless important papers with it. There was always a back-up pen in my desk drawer, should it go missing.
Re: The best pen
3 Sizes of Sharpie.
"Ultra Fine Point" (at least 3, but I prefer @ least twice that, in case I lose one or wish to give one away). These are for journaling or taking notes on shift.
"Fine". The classic sharpie size. At least 2 or 3. These are for scribbling event addresses, days and times in a notebook, towards the front, where the size will distinguish that it's an important and/or time-sensitive note, not journalling. Sometimes red is nice, as it also draws my attention.
"Super". (Or larger, by that other popular brand with the aluminum tube and bevelled edge). Just get the biggest, darkest markers you can find. These are for writing on the Temple. It's nice to have more than you need so you can give one away. Not everyone anticipates needing to write on the Temple.
. . . A dry erase marker is nice, especially if the dry erase board is at YOUR camp, and you don't want some dork using permanent marker on it. Tie the end of it to the dry erase board with kitchen string and duct tape, so that the lid may be removed and restored without loosening the string.

Proven Technology.
Doesn’t care about Playa dust.
Works even after 10 years out in the dust.
Doesn’t roll off the plywood when you sawing and hammering.
Easy on the teeth when gnawing the ass-end.
Fits behind ear.
If you lose it it’s like $0.73 to replace.
Writes on pretty much anything at any angle wet or dry.
You can use two and eat a meal with them.
Best value for the $$.

Good old government issue black barrel medium point Skilcraft (Lighthouse for the Blind) ballpoint pen. Produced in the millions, found in the wild at military installations and post offices worldwide. Tough as nails and have never had one dry up. Now available to the common man. Marked with "US Government" on the barrel, so maybe folks will think you are a secret agent or narc.
Comes in a box of 12, which should last you 10 years. Only thing it won't do is write on white boards.

While not a pen I prefer the 7-Level double sided mechanical pencils. Nothing more empowering than putting a big red X in the aircraft forms.Molotov wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 7:31 amGood old government issue black barrel medium point Skilcraft (Lighthouse for the Blind) ballpoint pen. Re: The best pen
The main reason that company or pen line gets government contracts at all is because Skilcraft is owned by National Industries for the Blind and the products are mostly made by blind or severely disabled people. The company gets preferential treatment because of a bill signed into law during the New Deal to contract with products made by blind Americans.Molotov wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 7:31 amGood old government issue black barrel medium point Skilcraft (Lighthouse for the Blind) ballpoint pen. While that is a noble effort and aim, the quality of those pens by that company has historically not been that great. The pens are flimsy, dry up in the box (though maybe because of large quantities purchased at a time), and have pretty average writing quality. They're also expensive, but I guess hand-assembled?
That said, they're not terrible when new and lots of people do like them. All things the same, the average Bic pen would be a much better and economic choice. The same with other office products that Skilcraft manufactures and has exclusive rights to sell to the US government. Things aren't all equal though, so it is still a noble effort and the company probably wouldn't be in business without the help.
For the price, (at least $1/pen when bought in a box of 12) I would just rather own and use a superior pen by a company like Uni-ball - such as their excellent Jetstream line.

Badger-I just like the "clicky-clicky" action of the Skilcraft pens. Also no cap to lose.
