One gallon of water poured in one spot is almost enough to get a car stuck, it's that sticky and slick.
If you do it anyways the regrets will be numerous as you try to figure out where all of those concrete clumps keep coming from each day when you wake up...
That's the reason that you collect it and take it with you, or if its just water and dirt you can broadcast it.

Sooner or later, it will get real strange...

Yes, it is a big deal. We don't want your sunscreen, deodorant and what ever other stuff you put on your body on the Playa. Your camp will get dinged by Resto if you dump shower water on the Playa.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.

I've found that running naked behind the water trucks is very refreshing. They spray the roads several times each day so no need to bring shower water. Just wear plastic bags on your feet to keep them from getting muddy.
Kidding! About the plastic bags.
Otherwise you can buy giant wet wipes that are about 1/2 the size of a normal towel. Many of them have essential oils too so you smell pretty. A tub and garden sprayer filled with vinegar water is what I use each day on at least my legs & feet. This has worked well for me. Apply lotion afterwards and clean socks. Its a life changer.
My camp has a simple shower that uses a bulb to pump the water. You would be surprised how little water you actually need to get clean. But as others have said, keep your stinky water off the Playa!
If your feeling spicy I think there are some camps that will lather you up and hose you down. But that really depends on how much of a public spectacle you want your daily cleaning regime to be. I've never done that but I'm sure others can provide the details.
Otherwise, as a last resort there's a guy in center camp that mines his own bleach and rents it out. Apparently he doesn't know about the principal of decommodification.

Cultural appropriation? Do I go over to your house during one of your BDSM sessions and slap the Nazi SS officer hat off of your head? - Bob

Sorry brah, no one wants to walk through your penile cheese juice!Bruce030 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 11:25 pmso would it be a big deal to shower/rinse off with a gallon of water, say behind your car without "collecting" the grey water? would a gallon make that much mud?? is this more of an issue with the BLM or the corp (ie burning man)? I was not planning on collecting shower water LOL
What’s the big deal with putting down a small tarp, a big fat towel, letting it soak up all that grey water, then drying it?
Captures your grossness in the towel and you can pack it out.
Don’t be that guy.

Yes it is a big deal. I have personally seen citations for it. You are not going to be able to conceal grey water leaks on the playa.Bruce030 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 11:25 pmso would it be a big deal to shower/rinse off with a gallon of water, say behind your car without "collecting" the grey water? would a gallon make that much mud?? is this more of an issue with the BLM or the corp (ie burning man)? There are several washing camps and you will meet fun people in their lines. After exodus check into the Barbie Death Village Jacobs-Sands deal for a proper shower, stop at a truck stop with a shower, or go swimming. Have your girlfriend check all the places you miss getting off the dust and return the favor.
