For godsakes.. why the fuck would anyone care to resurrect this 82 car pileup of a thread. Aren't there cupcakes and to talk about and bad puns to make elsewhere?

Glad to see you're branching out.
As one of the thinnest peoplke on the playa, now you're championing cruelty to fat folks too?

Aren't you kept busy championing the right to deliberately and viciously lie about other people?

Wow!!!
You're so lifelike one might really believe you have your own emotions and thoughts.
The puppet strings shimmer in the light though ...

Since you condemn me for standing up to a vicious, lying bully, why don't you form a schoolgirl clique here on eplaya, and plonk me?
Then get all your buddies to plonk me too.
That'll learn me!

If you want to bring it all out, I have plenty more to say about it, that I have stayed quiet about.
So far.

How did you know my neighbor flooded my apartment this morning and it was raining inside? Fucking DUMB ass refugee that thinks drains are not real and water evaps if you flood your bathroom floor. ( mind you it is a old claw foot tub, it is huge. No reason for ANY water to escape!)

Well, now....

Just came across this thread for the first time and read the whole thing. (Well, not every word.) Interesting.

No comment on any of the content. Instead, this: Somewhere in here it was mentioned that people were posting their deepest rawest feelings and opinions, no matter how hurtful it might come across. I'm wondering if there might actually be a "market" for such a thread.

Over on the suicide thread, we have made good progress on spilling our guts freely. Of course, on the topic of suicide, this is necessary. Also, the gut-spilling there is a different kind -- everybody supports everybody 100%.

But suicide is such a specialized topic. I'm thinking that some of us might benefit from, or at least enjoy, an all-purpose thread with "all the filters turned off". There would have to be a rock solid ground rule that no-one would take offense. Read this thread at your own risk, sort of thing.

Just a brainstorm, folks. Feel free to ignore.

I would be in favor of a "filters-off" thread, Elliot.

Most people around here are quite open and honest anyway, and I like that. But a thread where we could speak our minds without getting personalities involved, that would be great.

Honestly, even if I wasn't a Mod I would be highly opposed to an "unfiltered" thread. There is absolutely no way that someone isn't going to take offense or take it personal; eplaya is not the place for ganging up or dumping all your unresolved shit; and look at the ugly turn that this thread has taken in just the few days since it's revival.

A thread that encouraged that or that "allowed" people to take potshots at each-other would be a recipe for disaster & would have this board clamped down like nothing else. Nothing dies on the internet and anything posted here will be around to read for a long long time- do you really want petty tirades to be part of that legacy?

I make like and trust many eplayans, but certainly not all of them. And we do get users now and then who are literally insane, who are stalkers, and I would not want my rawest emotions available to them. As it is, I've removed the links to my blogs, and adjusted the privacy settings on more than one of my sites.

Eplaya is a great resource for getting your shit together for burningman, and i have met some truly fabulous friends through here. It can also be a great comfort and help in some other aspects of my life. However, (as with any group) you have to take things with a grain of salt and ANY thread on here is subject to brutal honesty. Don't put it out there if you can't take it.
