Miss Blue, the more I think about my folks' offer to let me move back home, the more I picture you in that shitty car. Funny, huh.
okay, so I have a kickass polenta recipe if I can remember offa hte top o'me head.....

lightly oil the bottom of a baking dish, arrange 1/2 of the polenta slices, sprinkle half a can of drained black beans and half a can of drained hominy (trust me here), spoon of chile sauce (see below), sprinkle with some montery jack cheese, repeat layers. OH, and drizzle the polenta with a little heavy cream (or be good and drizzle with a little milk).

Special Sauce
2 little cans of green chiles
1/2 cup or so of salsa verde
handful or so of chopped (shit I can't think of it, an herb, give me a minute)
1/4 tsp of cumin
a couple cloves of garlic, chopped up

YUMMY
fresh cilantro.

Good! Maybe it'll motivate you to not end up there again.

And Fishy, I don't mind the advice. Especially, now that it's a new day and I'm feeling more optimistic. I was just having a grumpy night last night.

"A Day in the Life" is kind of annoying, but I like it. I like it better since I found out that it's two songs mushed together. A lot of Beatles songs have a real unfinished quality.

Thanks for that recipe Giggles! I wrote it down as Giggle's Polenta recipe!

Hey, Blue....I'm pretty sure that the school bus companies in MPLS are always looking for bus drivers! Summers off!! Just a thought......

One of the things I did learn was not to dwell in the grump, but not to deny it either. Fake jolly doesn't help. Sometimes you need a wallow. The trick is to get out of the mud when you're done.

I mostly dabble in the mud more than wallow these days. I like the way it squishes between my toes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have thought about it, but I don't think that would be the best job for me.

You too, RG and Rodent.

I know, Giggles! All I can think of is...5 more weeks and another week off! I got like nothing done this week. Well, I did get a couple of things done. Sheesh, it's supposed to be my relaxation time but there never seems to be much relaxing.

Blue, when I first started I thought I would never like it but now I've been driving for 15 years! They train you in too and you should get paid training also. We have lots of people whoe are college students, retired military guys, and people I would never have thought would be a bus driver.
Our sister companies down there are, Hastings, Osseo and I think there's one called Monarch.

It is funny that I'm totally identified here in arkansaw but i've really got no local roots but what I've put down in my lifetime, my mom being a transplanted kansan. Anyway, your idea sounds pretty good to me, too! Mine was just a recipe in my mother's Schmancy Cooking Magazine that caught my eye. i hope I didn't leave anything out.

That would be champagne in teh avatar! I'm in the mood for a flute.

Not int he least. I worked in a department store for a few weeks over xmus one year and heard 10000 muzacked versions of their songs and I realized how relentlessly pop they really are. There are maybe a half dozen songs of theirs I like, mostly because they induce odd states in me, but mostly they seem like a bad mix of pretentious and mindless.

I do like the Walrus song though. McCartney just redid it and that's not too bad either.

I like McCartney and Wings songs better.
