Are people okay with a crafting presence at the camp? I have two projects that I can do and I'd like to open it up to the knitting circle if there is one. I think those are daytime things.

Also, I've been collecting clothes for phil--but I'd donate to the camp if we wanted to do some sort of fashion thing.

Thoughts?

Yea, Fishy, that sounds good. I think that was brought up in one of the other threads...threads, mmm, so many threads....
I was bringing some stuff to make jewelery out of. Fun just to sit and "chill" with, once in a while.

BTW... I like the BarCamp image post Rock! Might be able to make a flag/banner out of that.....

Don't we have two or three public spaces so far? There's absolutely no reason you couldn't have a bunch of people crafting. For that matter, we're a Bar, right? Social space for people to come and hang out and do whatever they do together-play pool, knit, mudwrestle, play cards (I'm bringing cribbage), discuss theology, juggle, fall in love, and oh, yeah-have a drink!!

sput, not only does it look like it will work, but I just walked through my monitor onto the playa in the picture, took a walk around it as if it was the Bar Camps/Mozy's, and even just sat down on the couch next to the scooter (I'm laying down now, you can't see me :) ) Also Crypto, about the crafting prescence, I think it should have an "everything" prescence...folks resting/beating the heat, knitting, drinking, drawing, writing, b e c o m i n g...I love the idea of the personality/talent/expression mesh.

That's really frickin' cool. Just need to make sure the bottom is sealed or has a drop pan and that it's 6" off the ground.

From the website. Not sure if there is a friends discount. It's big!
Devil Girl Baptismal Font
& Patio Fire Bowl
...A baptism by fire that is.
Yep, this fiery bowl designed and built by the Von Speedcult's will help keep you warm on those chilly evenings in the yard while you watch the flames dance from behind lounging devil girls. This mass of raw, quarter inch thick, rusty steel is a full 37 inches in diameter, so you can put some serious fuel into it for big flames, while it stands approximatly 31 inches tall on its fiery foot pads. You'll be the envy of your family, friends and neighbors with this fire bowl in your backyard. And at only $700 plus shipping, what a bargain. We've burned holes into the bottom of the bowl to allow water to drain for when it... you know, in case it rains. Please note, this is a special order item that takes appoximately 2 to 4 weeks to receive. Contact us for more details on how to order this uniquely styled fire bowl. This item is not intended to be used on wooden decks.
It's going to be alright.

I've never crafted at a bar.. (ponder... ) Okay, that's probably a lie, 'cause I knit pretty much everywhere. I DID used to go to a nightclub when it opened at 9pm, spend an hour doing my college homework on one of the little bar tables, then spend the NEXT hour shooting pool with some other regulars and the bouncers, then dancing like crazy until 1 or so when it was time to go to bed before school the next day...

So, though I still haven't really figured out playaknitting, I'm happily volunteering to help sew (and teach OTHERS to sew) the Never Ending Blanket together for Bar Folks to snuggle under :)

X.

I have some designs worked up for the bar. I will post them for feed back.
let me know what you think. This design will give us a small back room to store and lock down the bar when we need to.

Still waiting for the tent by the way. Grrrrrrr!!!!
