Yeah, if your van is your ride out, then you need to get it working. Last year one of the guys in my camp had just bought an old ambulance and was literally making it work up until the moment they left for the playa.

well maybe I can at least pretend to be working on something if I take off now, and get a little done before bed time.

(Waking from his catharsis)

Oh good God... there’s been all kinds of people through here since I went into a coma.

(Digging for a beer in cooler)

It is getting perilously close to time to leave, isn’t it? Oh, my... I’m getting giddy. I've so much crap to get done it ain't even funny. Many long days before I get to leave the planet for a while, I reckon.

(With a wet schmwerping sound, the pod hanging from the rafters opens and Robotland emerges, blinking...)

Man, I gotta get in here more often. Didn't think the smell of steak'n'eggs'd penetrate the pod! I'm a Space Baby, (born in'63) and grew up calling that an Astronaut's Breakfast. A round of vodka and Tang for everyone!

Just a pity that there's no Space Food Sticks to stir 'em with. The only Astronaut Food left is freezedried ice cream, which tastes like Strawberry Playa Mouth.

It's what you get when you consume either freezedried ice cream or a drywal-and-jelly sandwich.

(Packing in bunches of fresh veggies and free range eggs from the farmers market)

I know I'm late to the party, but how’s about some omelet to go with those now dry and crusty steak-n-eggs?

(Tossing eggs, green peppers, red peppers, onion, and yellow squash into skillet)

And a little dash of something special... a pinch of that playa dust to make it feel like a real "home" cooked meal.

(begins to glance around... looking to find the hookah for an after dinner puff)

RobbiDobbs staggers in, obviously intoxicated. She sees that no one is around, and plops down on the Dusty Couch. There is an air of concern on her face, as she puts the potty signs, the double sided tape, and the plastic rectangles, on the crate before her. Her kitty it playing with a moth, brought in as a gift/playtoy, to show what a good predator he truly is. Comforted in this, she sits down to colate the signs. She doesn't seem terribly pleased with this activity, but she knows there are obligations and responsibilities for this year's Event. In solitude, she sets to work, with no one to encourage her but her own resolve. The sign verbage begins to humor her, as she remembers that Art is a lonely endeavor, and that the Show must go on. It is the hope that This Year will be fun, that drives her on.

Alone on the ePlaya.

She says... to no one in particular...

I love you guys.

I love you too Robbidobbs, you are doing a great job at a difficult job to maintain enthusiasm for.

Some of us do know that without the work you do, and inspire others to do, the event it self could face being shut down.

It's not a thankless job though,......... Thanks from me and from the rest of us looking forward to our time together in Black Rock City.

Since I am drinking heavily, I thought of a new camp. I know I won't be there, but I know a lot of people who should be. It will be outside the permit area for those who don't like rules, or change, or paying, or etc.

sneaks in, steals the chai, sets a bottle of Prosecco and 24 pyramid-shaped chocolate truffles on the counter, sneaks out in a whirl of gold cape, leaving a single footprint that reads in hieroglyphics:
