For a few hours, one of our cat's thought it was her birthday, too. Pandorra got a bday card from either a vet or the SPCA, but after she checked the papers from when we got her and her first doctor visit it turns out they were a little off. The little squid didn't seem to mind, she gets pampered on both days no matter what. :)

Meanwhile, the studio upgrade anticipation continues. I'm still waiting on my new primary machine, but a couple more components arrived and I got some of the other shuffling around and 'next step' config details planned. Still a bit more cabling and wiring things to sort out while I wait, but feels like the home stretch.

it's probably time to start "tuning up" for TTITD, no?

worked with the backhoe pulling huge rocks from in front of the Hof, to allow better access ultimately, once the holes are filled, that is..
Heading up today to create a new shooting range up there.

HI MDF!
oh, so good news for the Hof party attendees:
the road has been substantially upgraded. Still bumpy as hell, with rocks and holes, but the big washout, and most of the rocks bigger than a bowling ball have been removed! so, making it to the lower parking area should be a breeze, (relatively speaking, not needing 4x4 anyway), and we can shuttle 2wd folks up the last 500'.

so, yay USFS!!

Good afternoon, Bar.

There's an epic flamewar going on the NYC BM email list right now. Israel vs Palestine.

Someone just dropped the Nazi bomb, so I assume it's going to shut down soon. But it's been entertaining. I just read the first and last sentences to get the flavor, but it basically started with Midburn and it has just absolutely cratered.

Now if only Simon and his socks could make the leap from Rochester to NYC, we could really get this going.

It's both funny and sad when the people who actually live in the middle of that conflicted area are able to come together and get along and make shit work, but the assholes sitting a continent away... can't.

back from another day of prep. at the Hof! outside of tipping the backhoe on two wheels sideways, but not quite going over, pretty uneventful.
Made us a new shooting range, rocky walking, I had to make the road, too:

log backstop, away from campers, aimed away, as well. More shade, too.

I never realized the Blue Goo in porta-potties was supposed to smell floral. I always thought it of it as a unique smell that never happened in nature. Boy was I wrong. I was out hiking Monday and as I was passing through a field at a local state park, the smell hit me; Blue Goo. I started looking around. Where is there a porta-potty out here? The smell stuck with me through the next 2 miles of the hike. It was a small blue-ish purple flower that was growing EVERYWHERE!

i am staying WAY THE FUCK OUT of that tar baby...

you couldn't PAY me to comment on the nonsense flying back and forth. and yes, i do read it.

and besides, i'm 360 fucking miles from NYC, it might as well be a thousand....personally, i cant stand the place, and i resent the immediate reaction of the entire country when i say im from New York....IM FROM WESTERN NEW YORK, and i dont give a shit about the "City"...
