Yeah, the fish book too, apparently. Someone else had it. I couldn't identify and decided to get the stupidist most obvious non-answer.

Thank you. I've been out for a day and a half. And there were ~35 pages. That's a page an hour. You need to shut down the 2nd half of the room and play louder music so no one talks.

Tish: what? You want me to go swimming in your coffee?

Oh, not that kind of 'something special' in your coffee...

my mistake.

Here's some Irish Creme... that's my fave... and a little whipped cream (homemade, of course... with a little carmel in it) on top.

Anyone else?

aaahhhh. that's better.

i am the production manager for a physical theatre school/performing company. i used to act & direct, but then i had kids - can't take off on tour all the time anymore. so i sit at a desk and rent trucks and haggle over technical riders. AND get to go home at about 3 most days and hang out with my kids!

the show is a VERY funny adaptation of Moliere's THE MISER. I don't think I should promote our stuff here, but pm me if you want our website.

and as for later....*winkwink*....what'd ya have in mind???
i'll just be, uhh...er, folding laundry and feeding my kids...

what about you, ZG? yer *obviously* familar with animation/graphics, eh?

As I've whined to everybody I'm a laid off museum exhibit maker. I'm trying to figure out what I want to now that it looks like I have to grow up. Maybe computer animation is the direction I should go. I don't know realistically how many jobs there are in that field either.

I'd have to take some classes and work up the chops, I've been primarily working 3-dimensionally. If I had a goal or direction though it would make taking any crappy job that came along, more palatable in the mean time.

Thanks,.. but there is a world of difference between playing at manipulating images with a 5th rate program and doing quality animation. I've played at it enough that I think I could be good at it but I'm a long ways from being a good prospect for anyone to make an offer that would be good enough for me to want to sell my house and move for the job. and it wouldn't have to be all that great an offer.

Ya know. . . *stops, sips drink* I'm a former collage artist. *pause* Or collage dillatante. I spend a certain amount of time recycling documents. . . some with color photos. Some with "before" and "After" photos--the afterphotos being the same landscape with some cheesey computer generated building inserted discretely into it.* urp * I hate throwing those away. Somebody's got to want them.

Yeah, I design media for the theme parks. I am surrounded by whirring computers. I often need to kill time while they render out frames of animation. Thus my ability to spend oodles of time here.

Except when I have to go on-site for mock-ups or installations.

Like, shit, right now!

I'm probably the kind of people you work with on those installations, along with developing physical low tech interactives, I work on sets for object theaters and various sorts of shrouds for TVs

No such thing. And, now that I've got Tish up here, you can all feel free to let loose with as much appreciating as you can muster!

Wow, tish... you can really move!
