Oh, and glass doesn't show up in airport scanners.
And, glass is very hygienic! Highly recommended by this nurse. 8)

edited to add: extra butter is quite nice on glass.
I am personally fond of silicone.

If it's going to be used or not, one goes in my luggage. I figure the TSA should find something if they're bothering to look.

I thought for sure I had written in here that
(if I get a STEP ticket)
I'd like to bring an assortment of prickly pear edibles
(and imbibables)
such as jelly, chutney, wine etc...

Turns out it was on the last page of the old thread from last year,
but it still stands! :D

You can mark another Burgin down, as I'll be joining in the festivities as well.

I'll see if I can't whip up some pepper infused tequila, possible other boozy goodies as well, if I get creative. 8)

Triken, bless you. I have never tasted prickly pear edibles... and I really want to. So you had better get that ticket. I do not want to be disappointed. 8)

Well, that's the spirit (and the alcohol as well)..

Awesomeness.

now go get creative... you Burgin you :D

Insomnivore, thank you for taking an interest in attending this fine event.

And it will be fine. There will be hilarity, bouncyness, jocularity, some piano playing, way too much absinthe, and random stupidity.

So, all those peeps who are reading this thread that are wondering whether they should pipe up and say they want to come, should just follow Insomnivore's example and come say hi... We don't bite (well not on this thread anyway)

Your very welcome Moonrise. :D

The rest of the wild boar met it's timely demise at a lead retreat planning session for lakes of fire this june. Me thinks it's time to check the freezer and see what other delights await the next burn.

Aha! The pear wine of which I speak (pause for effect) is a specialty of Lake County, Northern California. In this county we have a lake, and on land surrounding that lake we grow pears, and then we toss a pinch of dry ice in the bottle just before we cork it, and the result is a very tasty beverage known as a sparkling pear wine. And since this elixir is produced a mere 15 miles from my personal castle, it rather behooves me to share this local bounty with my friends in BRC, as I have done on previous occasions. Blah, blah, blah.... :D

I'm experimenting with an absinthe louche jello shot. If I make them out of regular gelatin, they don't seem as sensitive to warmer temperatures. But if I have them in sampler cups with lids, it wouldn't matter if they melt a bit,,,, would it? This would be my "top shelf" absinthe complete with the sugar and water already mixed. We could even suck them out of MDF's cleavage! Errrrrr that is, if she's willing
