..so a little while back, I was cutting down some tall grass out back with the lawnmower, but dammit, Bill failed to remind me about that low lying tree stump, and BAM! Stopped cold!

Today I replaced the bent blade, and started it up..
It used to sing like Pavarotti, now it sounds more like Tom Waits.

Well, after quite a few days of copying and pasting Gs, Hs, '-"s and spaces, (a challenge all to itself, those f*cking spaces)... and a trip out in the real world to two places, I finally have an acceptable keyboard!

Elorrum, I did notice the missing 'h' in my name, there... cracked me up!

So, this keyboard is even smaller than my old one, and it's wireless. I also got a little (tiny) new mouse, also wireless. It's not hooked up yet... mostly because the old one still works. All in due time.... though it'll be nice not having the wire that keeps pulling this mouse off the table.

Now, for a celebratory wine!!

Ups has me stuck in a loop with no package tracking delivery time for the car parts I need. Since yesterday the tracking information page has stated that "no delivery information is available at this time, check back later."

Dammit, Bill.... was it you who told EVERYBODY-WHO-MAKES-ANYTHING to build some planned obsolescence into it??
Just seems like all these 'modern Conveniences' have a plot built in that you'll have to either replace them within a short period of time (like the week after the warranty expires) or just do without.

This morning, all my smoke detectors decided to freak out. All the batteries were replaced not even 3 months ago. I hadn't used the stove or the toaster, wasn't smoking anything, water heater was fine, gas stove has no pilots, attic was fine, coffee was over with and unplugged, nothing but the fridge was on... and so-on. All windows and doors open, ceiling fans on, and they stopped. Turned off the fans, and they started again, even with the house wide open. Took all the batteries out, to no avail. This screeching/quiet/screeching/quiet crap went on for a good (GOOD???) two hours.

Finally called the fire dept, non-emergency line. They showed up with the big truck, and verified that the house was indeed Not On Fire, and informed me that the detectors should have been REPLACED at least 5 years ago. (Not the batteries, the whole units!!)

Went out and bought 5 new units, identical (at least on the outside) only to discover that the plug configuration has changed. So, switched off a few breakers and wired in the new connectors, installed and tested all five.

This is NOT what I had hoped to spend today dealing with.
So, Bill.... how do you have any friends at all? (or Do you?)

Dammit Bill! What is the point of having assigned parking spaces, when one neighbor decides to "not trip about it" and park in whatever spot he feels like parking in. "don't be tripping" well, I've been worried that I've been displacing somebody else that LIVES HERE> and worried that somebody is getting pissed having to park elsewhere, and if that person is the person who's spot I'm parking in when it's the only open spot.
Have you ever tried to tell someone they are making problems, and they say, "You're fine there, don't worry." Like I was sharing my thoughts that I was perhaps in the wrong. eh Billl?

I knew I was taking a chance on the tricycle purchase, and sure enough the rear axle was bent...ok...sort of expected that but I ASSUMED that customer service would send the correct replacement.

They did not. The one they sent is 3/4 of an inch too short. I tried to make it work, but it won't...dammit.

Why do appliances have to quit. In May 1994 we purchased an American made Amana refrigerator/freezer. Freezer on the bottom.
Now after 21 years and 1 month of virtually flawless, reliable service the old girl is calling it quits. The motor is constantly running, temperature won't go below 46 and at times pushes 50.
She has the original door seals. At least once a month we'd clean and vacuum underneath and behind her.
Losing this refrigerator will be like losing one of my cats. She's like family.
