Not today. Typical Willamette Valley, OR: Rain, followed by sun, and sometimes combined with sun.

TPBM never saw it coming.

Actually yes. The GIANT East Bay Bike Party. We are asked to wear BIG costumes in it's honor.

TPBM also has 500 posts, which I just achieved with this one!

Nothing so mundane as the movies. This weekend, I go to a brewfest, a belly dance showcase and a clown's 30th birthday party. It should be interesting.

TPBM would like to tag along.

That sounds good. I need some good veggies. Feel like I'm camping or traveling, and need to settle down for a real nourishing meal.

Now, now, you all know that I prefer oddball, eccentric music like Finntroll, the Klezmatics, and Brave Combo. You may not know that funk and jazz make me feel uncomfortable, because I dislike them so strongly, but never want to admit it for racial reasons.
TPBM doesn't like anything recorded before 1965.

Well, actually I do enjoy many of the early Loony tunes cartoons, as well as the three stooges and spanky and the gang.

tpbm thinks Fishy was probably talking about music

Assuming you both meant Rousseau (with a "u" in the first syllable), then kinda true. The names were familiar. I've probably Googled them both before and felt very educated thereafter, but I had clearly forgotten everything and had to do it again.

Now I know that J-J was a philosopher whose writings were influential in the Romantic movement. I didn't actually read any of those (or summaries thereof), so I can't say whether or not I'm an admirer. I like a lot of things about the Romantic era, but not as much as I did when I was a young thing. The anti-rationalism kinda grates, and some of the literature tends toward the maudlin.

And I also learned that H was a painter. Looking at pictures is easy, so I did a bit of that. I like them... they remind me of the illustrations in children's books a bit. Very dreamlike, at least if your dreams are vivid and intense like mine.

There's also a community called Rosseau (as Fishy spelled it) not too far from here. I've never been there. I'm sure its lovely.

TPBM is going to explore a new town soon.
