Its ok I got an atlas, and I realise the scale of things, to get from Las vegas to gerlach will be about 500 miles and that for is almost the length of our whole country but fear not as we are up for the challenge!

Ok best take Humbodlt off the list as it is sadly a bit too far out of the way! But we may also add that bakery to the list lol

Way up- Las vegas->Death valley->Yosemite->Tahoe->Reno->Gerlach

Way down- Gerlach->Humboldt->Austin->Rachel->Las vegas

We arrive in Las vegas on 24th aug and leave on the 7th sept,
Do you recon we can fit all these places in realistically?

EDIT: Oh crap I forgot to include Bodie!
Death Valley is a hot mother fucker in August, will make the playa seem cool by comparison. If you visit all the places you say on the way up, it will take you over a week to see all of what you have listed as each place is a days drive apart from each other plus your time at the different places. Plan accordingly.

Hello family,

I just got home from a day trip to Yosemite...WOW WOW WOW

It's only 2 hours for us, so today was just right.. I will be going back again next Tuesday to hike around the Hetch Hetchy area. But I'll tell you this, It will be hard to find Yosemite looking any better than it is right now.. Sure each season has it's own beauty. With the snow pack they have, the late season might allow the falls to be more than a trickle.
I was Born OK the 1st Time....

Don't bring defaultia to Burning Man, take Burning Man to defaultia...... graidawg

RingO'Fire suggests stops at hot springs.

I second that. Saline valley and most SoCal ones would
be waa..aay hot in early Sept.

Sierra Hot Springs (was there last Sept). at 5200ft((Just north of
Truckee) is visited by departing burners can be a cooler spot
to decompress. :D Some reasonable fees. suits optional.
crash & burn ski lessons given
