What preparation made your BM all that much better?

I totally did that this year and it made all the difference, especially in terms of cash spent the week prior.

Shampoo, Conditioner, hair "lotion", and my big ass comb. Hair washing was my playa gift to the folks in TC. It was a great way to meet people... Delightfully intimate, even with a tent full of people waiting for their turn. Plus, the run-off from their hair kept my feet in GREAT shape all week!

Heheh, preparation....H

The most borrowed-by-campmates items this year from me (and thus made the burn better for all) were:
1) dustpan and broom
2) bike tire pump
3) solar power charger

I was most happy however to have a big grommit repair kit onboard, as one whole edge of my main canopy ripped loose and had to be repaired. Saved me from frying, that kit did! I forgot the ratchet straps though, a must have for next year.

Best prep was my hair actually. I went uber-butch this year, and it was so much easier to deal with. Also, Castile Soap from Trader Joe's was perfect for both body and hair.

for me it was advice and planning.

putting together a tentative schedule and a list of must sees and events I wanted to see also helped

The guide had an error in scheduling so I missed 2 of the Mutaytor performances I wanted to see.

Must sees for me were

(insert list of eplaya friends to find)

If you have a mutant vehicle, the best prep: spare parts! Every year I have some sort of breakdown, but I've yet to NOT have a spare whatever went wrong.
