For what it's worth, I took your offer as a genuine and well-intentioned gift. As such, I thought the responses to it gradually became more and more out of line. However, I also think your replies only fanned those flames until the whole exchange achieved Grand Farce proportions.

Hopefully a lot of people came away from this wiser for the experience.

Thanks for your kind words, but note that I try to reserve misspelling flames for proper names.

Wait a minute -- you weren't talking about the tattoo chick/a/dude, were you?

Arrgh.

The second tattoo artist (daughter of the first) broke a "date" as I was leaving to pick her up in November, so I did not call her back as she had at that time seemed not so interested afterall.

I'd gone back in to get my braided leather belt last Friday (had taken it off & forgot it in the studio). She played up to me again.

I'd noticed she had a gauze badage on the top of her hand. From an I.V., so asked. She had had her tubes-tied that morning. Drove herself to the hospital& back, & was working that afternoon. So, she is a "trooper". Plus she evidently thinks it likely to have otherwise un-protected sex sometime in the future. Plus-plus.

She said that over the holiday her three kids came to visit. Her brother across the continent has adopted them, and brought them with. Ages 9, 7 & 2.

The next week, she had her tubes tied. Really does not want to have more kids? A poigniant reminder, the holidays, of what it is we have made of our lives. Sometimes our greatest successes thought personal failures. It would hurt a lot to see your kids that you had given away to a better life than you could give. Whom would want to do that again.. but what is Love if not that?

Anyways, she said that while at the hospital, she had some medication changed which had in the previous six months contributed to her gaining 30 pounds. With the med change, she plans on losing the weight in 2-weeks. I'm thinking she is gonna mail another baby to her brother, is what i'm thinking. I am a nasty fuck.

My brother (Dear Abby) says I should not go out with her this Saturday as we now plan. He said there are a couple warning flags, but I see them more as standards each of us carries prominently in our personal wars. Sounds freaking corny, I know, overly dramatic, but such is life. Plus, maybe it's not all about me or what I "get". I'm not looking to trade up or down or anything at all. This is someone whom has crossed my path and said "hello, I'd like to get to know you" is all.

Two flags she scribed within my flesh & knows most certainly my resolve, though not a reason why, as neither i of hers. Thought complex but unerringly simple? Is everyone looking for the same thing? A huge TATTOO of a three-masted schooner on their chest?
